CurveBuilder

Are you tired of painstakingly aligning foundations and walkways just to get that perfect curve for your train lines? Do you dream of building an enormous circle, because enormous circles are awesome? CurveBuilder is the mod for you!

Inspired by the well-established methods the Satisfactory community has come up with for building foundations at an angle, CurveBuidler aims to streamline the process and create an easy, hassle-free way to build your foundations at a perfect curve.

How to Use

- When building a foundation, press R or use the radial menu to switch to the new Curve build mode
- Place your first foundation, set the rotation angle, and zoop away!
- Adjust the desired rotation angle by holding the rotation toggle key (default is Caps Lock) and scrolling with the mouse wheel

Overview

CurveBuilder now has four distinct sub-modes that allow you to build in different ways.

New Features

Sub-modes

1. Zoop Mode
Vanilla-style zoop, but curvy.

2. Parallel Mode
Creates additional zoop arrays in parallel to the main zoop

3. Align Mode (WIP)
Connects two pre-existing
Status: Work In Progress, not implemented in this version

4. Circle Mode
Instantly builds a circle!

Default Keybindings

All Sub-Modes

- `Alt` (Tap) → Cycle sub-mode
- `Alt` (Hold) → Open sub-mode radial menu

---

Zoop Mode

- `Caps Lock` + `Scroll` → Adjust rotation angle
- `Caps Lock` (Hold) → Rotate snapped foundation by specified angle
- `Page Up` → Switch between vanilla and alternate zoop directions for the current hologram

---

Parallel Mode

- `Caps Lock` + `Scroll` → Adjust rotation angle
- `Caps Lock` (Hold) → Rotate snapped foundation by specified angle
- `Page Up` → Switch between vanilla and alternate zoop directions for the current hologram
- `+ / -` → Increase/Decrease distance between parallel zoop arrays
- `Shift` + `+ / -` → Increase/Decrease the number of parallel zoop arrays

---

Align Mode (WIP)

Work in progress.

---

Circle Mode

- `+ / -` → Increase/Decrease the number of 'sides' of the circle
(Technically more of a polygon.)

Supported Buildables

Now supports the following buildables:
- Foundations/Ramps
- Big/Small pillars
- Walls
- Catwalks/Walkways

(All variants besides those that do not support vanilla zooping)

Multiplayer

Now Fully Multiplayer Compatible!

(With future improvements planned)

CurveBuilder can now run as a client-only mod!

#

What Does This Mean?

- If you play on a dedicated server, you can still use CurveBuilder even if the server does not have the mod installed (with some caveats).
- Likewise, if you install the mod on a dedicated server, clients do not need the mod installed to join the session.

#

⚠️ Limitations

- Due to the way certain holograms are handled, only foundation/ramp holograms work when running as a client-only mod.
(This may change with future updates!)

For the best experience, it is still recommended to install CurveBuilder on both the client and server.

Notes on multiplayer

---
Due to how Unreal Engine handles multiplayer data (replication), large zoop arrays (~200+ holograms) can sometimes be too large to send to the server.

There will eventually be a check that limits this, but if you try to build an enormous zoop array currently the server will not process it.

Bug Fixes

- Fixed conflict bug with Infinite Zoop that caused curve mode cost to rise exponentially
- Fixed bug with keybind indicators being duplicated
- Fixed bug with UI not disappearing when exiting build mode
- Fixed bug where custom keybinds were updating variables while not in curve mode

Known Issues

This is currently a beta version, so please report any bugs/crashes/issues you encounter. Currently, known issues are listed here:
- Some holograms appear to display the wrong mesh when being zooped (such as double ramps appearing as single ramps), but are constructed properly when finalised
- Walkway ramps/stairs are marked as supported but the logic to correctly align them is not implemented yet
- Wall holograms have slight alignment issues when continuing a curved zoop in the vertical direction
- Possible keybind conflict with Infinite Nudge pitch/roll rotation keys (the separation adjustment keybind was origianlly shift/scroll but this conflicted, still unsure why this appears to override it but will be fixed soon™)
- Maximum number of holograms not enforced (see above)
- When running as a client-only mod connected to a dedicated server, exiting the build gun build state and then re-equipping the build gun sometimes reverts to a different mode/says it is in curved mode but it is not. Cycling build modes is a workaround for this
- Sometimes flickers when starting a zoop and not already zooping in an established direction

Curve Builder auf dem Server installieren

1

Satisfactory Server bestellen

Bestelle einen Satisfactory Server mit mindestens 4 GB RAM (6 GB empfohlen). Bei Multiplayer: +1 GB pro 4 Spieler.

2
