About this Mod
Hotbar Switch
Your whole inventory, one keypress away.
Minecraft only lets you use your 9 hotbar slots while you play — the other 27 just sit in your bag. Hotbar Switch lets you instantly change which inventory row is in your hands. Tap a key, the arrow keys, or scroll, and a different row slides into your hotbar. It's like carrying four hotbars at once.
✨ Features
⬆️⬇️ Switch rows in a tap — Up / Down arrows, R to cycle, or hold Left Alt + scroll.
👀 Live preview — a small panel in the top-right shows all your rows with item counts, and a green highlight slides to the row you pick.
🎒 Works in the inventory screen too — reorganize and switch at the same time.
🔊 Tactile feedback — a soft click on every switch.
⚙️ Fully rebindable in Options → Controls → Hotbar Switch.
🌐 Works on ANY server — nothing to install server-side
In Minecraft the server controls your inventory, so a client-only mod can't add real new slots. Hotbar Switch instead rearranges the 36 slots you already have, using the exact action the game performs when you press a number key over a slot — so the server validates every move:
✅ Works on vanilla, public, and modded servers — and singleplayer
✅ No server mod required
✅ No item loss, no "ghost" items, no desync
🎮 Controls
Control Action
↑ / ↓ Move the selected row up / down
R Cycle through all rows
Hold Left Alt + Scroll Move up / down between rows
Normal scrolling still selects your hotbar slot — rows only switch while you hold the modifier key.
❓ FAQ
Does this add more inventory slots? No — nothing client-side can on a server you don't control. It gives fast access to the slots you already have.
Can items get lost or duplicated? No. Every move is a normal, server-approved swap.
Does it work on servers? Yes — any server. It's 100% client-side.

Hotbar Switch server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.11). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Hotbar Switch compatible with fabric?
Hotbar Switch officially supports fabric for Minecraft 1.21.11. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Hotbar Switch – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Hotbar Switch consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
