About this Mod
Render Scroll
Render Scroll lets you change your render distance instantly using your scroll wheel, without pausing the game or opening video settings.
When Render Scroll is enabled, scrolling up increases render distance and scrolling down decreases it. The current render distance is shown in chat after each change.
This is similar to the old F3 + F behavior from Minecraft 1.16, but using the scroll wheel instead.
Features
- Change render distance without opening settings
- Uses the mouse scroll wheel
- Shows the new render distance in chat
- Toggleable keybind
- Client-side only
Controls
The default toggle key is U.
You can change the keybind in Minecraft’s controls menu.

Render Scroll server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.11). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Render Scroll compatible with fabric?
Render Scroll officially supports fabric for Minecraft 1.21.11. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Render Scroll – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Render Scroll consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
