voidblades

voidblades

a Fabric mod for Minecraft 1.21.1 that replaces the blade/head of netherite weapons with an animated end-portal void texture, while keeping a custom teal/green hilt. Supports the netherite sword, spear, and mace, atm.

About this Mod

Here's a Modrinth-ready description:

Void Mod replaces the blade and head of netherite weapons with a live end-portal void texture, as if the weapon is a window into the void itself.

Features

  • Netherite Sword — the blade is replaced with a swirling end-portal effect
  • Netherite Spear — the spear head glows with the void
  • Mace — the flanged head reveals the void between its knobs
  • Custom teal/gold hilt reskin on all three weapons
  • Enchant glint applies to the handle only — the void doesn't glint, it consumes
  • Works in inventory, on the ground, and in hand

How it works

Transparent pixels on each weapon's blade/head texture are replaced with real-time end-portal rendering. The handle pixels remain solid, so the grip looks physical while the business end looks like it was forged from the end itself.

Requirements

  • Minecraft 1.21.11
  • Fabric Loader
  • Fabric API

Notes

  • Only affects netherite variants
  • Other players need void in the item's custom name to see the effect (you always see it on your own weapons)
