Fix The Bulb
Makes balloon plants chainsawable & explosive-removable so they stop blocking your factory. Vanilla-friendly.
Description
Fix The Bulb — Destructible Balloon Trees

Bulb plants blocking your megabase plans? Not anymore.
This mod lets you cut down those stubborn “balloon/bulb” trees like any other foliage.
What it does
- Turns balloon/bulb trees into chainsawable, explosive-removable foliage.- Drops: Leaves (by design — simple, safe, vanilla-friendly).
- No balance tweaks, no map edits, no new items. Just… freedom to build.
Why
A few balloon trees were flagged wrong and ended up indestructible, which can hard-block builds (looking at you, Southern Forest). This mod fixes that oversight. How it works (tech, short)
- On load, it tags the relevant static meshes with the standard Chainsawable foliage identifier.- No save hacking; once you cut a plant, the usual “removed foliage” markers handle persistence.
Compatibility
- SML: 3.11+- Game: tested on 1.1 (CL 433351)
- Multiplayer: install on server and clients.
Performance
Negligible. A tiny asset pass at startup, then it’s hands-off.Known notes
- Installed mid-save? If a specific clump seems stubborn, save & reload or walk out/in to re-stream the area.- If Coffee Stain renames assets in future patches, I’ll update — the mod already scans for common variants.
Install
Use FICSIT Mod Manager (FMM). Enable SML, enable Fix The Bulb, launch.Multiplayer
Expected to work (server + all clients), but not tested yet.FAQ
Can it drop Mycelia instead of Leaves? Not in this version, by choice — keeping it simple and rock-solid. If lots of players want it, I’ll consider a separate flavor.
Does it touch performance or visuals?
Nope.

Frequently Asked Questions
Fix The Bulb not working after update – what to do?
After a Satisfactory update, mods need to be updated. Check ficsit.app whether Fix The Bulb has been updated for the new game version. With Mado Hosting: open the mod manager and click "Update All". If the mod hasn't been updated yet, temporarily remove it so the server starts.
Fix The Bulb causing crashes in multiplayer – solution
Most common cause: all players must have exactly the same mod version installed. Check server logs for "ModMismatch" or "Version Conflict". Ensure all players use Fix The Bulb v1.0.0 and the same SML. With Mado Hosting, Satisfactory servers run with 6 GB RAM for stable multiplayer performance.
Is Fix The Bulb compatible with other Satisfactory mods?
Fix The Bulb uses the Satisfactory Mod Loader (SML). Generally, SML-based mods are cross-compatible, but mods modifying the same game systems can cause conflicts. Test new mod combinations on a backup save. The Mado dashboard automatically detects known conflicts and warns you.
