Mod that helps remove huge lag spikes by preloading the map.
This mod is mainly aimed at servers with big saves that lag every time you enter an area for the first time since loading in.
It allows you to "visit" every part of the map right after loading.
This essentially makes you lag at the start so that you don't lag later.
A mod like this is very useful if you need to race explorers across the map or something.
There are 3 simple settings:
1. Auto Preload - the option to turn on/off automatic preloading
2. Radius 2^n [m] - this allows you to change the radius of a circle that's rendered, this changes how much lag you get at once, but bigger circles decrease the number of points you have to render. this setting is the n in 2^n, which is how many meters the radius is
3. Whole map - this setting renders the whole map at once (not recommended on any bigger map or slower hardware)
The progress is shown in the right corner of your screen with a little widget that disappears when it finishes.
The mod is only on the client side, so you can join any server with it enabled.
You can start/cancel the preloading with simple commands PreloadMap.Cancel and PreloadMap.Start

How to Install PreloadMap on Your Server
Order Satisfactory Server
Order a Satisfactory server with at least 4 GB RAM (6 GB recommended). For multiplayer: per 4 players.
Install Mod
Open the mod manager in the dashboard and search for "PreloadMap". Installation dependencies are installed automatically.
Restart Server
Restart the server so the mod is loaded. Players need to have the mod installed locally as well.
Frequently Asked Questions
PreloadMap not working after update β what to do?
After a Satisfactory update, mods need to be updated. Check ficsit.app whether PreloadMap has been updated for the new game version. With Mado Hosting: open the mod manager and click "Update All". If the mod hasn't been updated yet, temporarily remove it so the server starts.
PreloadMap causing crashes in multiplayer β solution
Most common cause: all players must have exactly the same mod version installed. Check server logs for "ModMismatch" or "Version Conflict". Ensure all players use PreloadMap v1.0.3 and the same SML. With Mado Hosting, Satisfactory servers run with 6 GB RAM for stable multiplayer performance.
Is PreloadMap compatible with other Satisfactory mods?
PreloadMap uses the Satisfactory Mod Loader (SML). Generally, SML-based mods are cross-compatible, but mods modifying the same game systems can cause conflicts. Test new mod combinations on a backup save. The Mado dashboard automatically detects known conflicts and warns you.
