Description

Due to the proliferation of generative AI use in the modding community and its support from the game developers, I will no longer be developing mods for Satisfactory. My currently released will be kept updated for compatibility only. Thankyou for your understanding.

This mod makes it so that when you choose a new default color swatch for a buildable group, all buildables in that group with the old default will be updated to match the new one.

Buildables that have been painted with a different customization than the old default will remain unchanged.

Choosing a new default that matches ones with customisations will then join those into the whole group that will be updated next time you change the default.

Works with the 5 vanilla finishes and now Extra Finishes! Other mod-added finishes aren't currently supported and will turn everything black, so probably avoid setting them as the default swatch for anything unless that's what you'd like.

Works on Multiplayer!

Frequently Asked Questions

Retroactive Default Coloring not working after update – what to do?

After a Satisfactory update, mods need to be updated. Check ficsit.app whether Retroactive Default Coloring has been updated for the new game version. With Mado Hosting: open the mod manager and click "Update All". If the mod hasn't been updated yet, temporarily remove it so the server starts.

Retroactive Default Coloring causing crashes in multiplayer – solution

Most common cause: all players must have exactly the same mod version installed. Check server logs for "ModMismatch" or "Version Conflict". Ensure all players use Retroactive Default Coloring v1.0.2 and the same SML. With Mado Hosting, Satisfactory servers run with 6 GB RAM for stable multiplayer performance.

Is Retroactive Default Coloring compatible with other Satisfactory mods?

Retroactive Default Coloring uses the Satisfactory Mod Loader (SML). Generally, SML-based mods are cross-compatible, but mods modifying the same game systems can cause conflicts. Test new mod combinations on a backup save. The Mado dashboard automatically detects known conflicts and warns you.
