Asphalt
This is my personal modpack for vanilla activities; complete with my own cursed controls. It includes mods like Voxy which greatly enhance the MC experience. Perhaps you could use it as inspiration.
About this Modpack
This is my personal vanilla pack based off of SO by HyperSoop. Added on top of SO are some QoL mods, general improvements, and a few miscellaneous mods.
Relevant Additions:
Voxy: Increase effective render distance through lightweight LODs.
Iris: Shaders are cool
Fast Quit, Remove Reloading Screen: Speeds things up
Chunky, Scalable Lux: Speeds up chunk generation
Sodium Extra: Gives useful f3 data without the eyesore and more importantly, removes all toasts
ViaFabricPlus: Allows one to play on servers of arbitrary versions with minimal friction.
For optimal performance, using the latest available version of GraalVM as your JVM is suggested. Adding the flags-XX:+UseZGC -XX:+UseCompactObjectHeaders
would be recommended as well for Java 25 and beyond.
Early access builds for GraalVM can be found here.
C2ME OCL Info
C2ME has an unreleased alpha testing out openCL gpu acceleration in the RelativityMC Discord. It is licensed ARR and so cannot be included in this pack but it can be found in the pins under ocl-accel-t0
General Voxy Info
Voxy is an LoD mod (like Distant Horizons) which renders distant chunks with realistic, lightweight LoDs. Unlike Distant Horizons, Voxy doesn't have any distant terrain generation so you must generate the chunks yourself with chunky then ingest them with
/voxy import world "WORLD_NAME"
Alternatively, LoDs can be imported from Bobby or DH.
Voxy does not have server-side support (and likely won't for a very long time) and so the only way to ingest chunks on a server is to visit them yourself.
Voxy doesn't support any versions besides the latest it's available on. However, there is an unofficial backport for versions such as 1.21.1 and 1.20.1. For neoforge support, use connector though there is no guarantee this will work.
Shaders which support Voxy have only recently come out and can be found in Voxy is Cool. Download the versions listed in the website as most of these haven't been posted to Modrinth.
Players on Prism launcher should enable Zink under performance settings in order to fix certain shader bugs.
Versioning
For consistency, versioning here will be done the same as SO--namely, it will be
- x will be incremented upon the addition or removal of a mod
- y will be incremented when altering the config
- z will be incremented for minor mod updates or for updates which otherwise have little substance

How to Set Up a Asphalt Server
Order Server
Choose at least 4 GB RAM (6 GB recommended for Asphalt). Based on player count: per 8 players.
Install Modpack in Dashboard
Open the modpack browser in the dashboard, search for "Asphalt" and click "Install". The fabric loader and Minecraft 26.1.2 are configured automatically.
Start Server & Play
Start the server – all mods are loaded automatically. Share the server IP with friends and play together!
Frequently Asked Questions
Asphalt server crashes or won't start – what to do?
Most common causes: insufficient RAM or wrong fabric loader. Check latest.log for "OutOfMemoryError" → increase RAM to at least 6 GB. For "Mixin" or "ClassNotFoundException" errors: modpack version and loader don't match. With Mado Hosting, loader and Minecraft version are auto-configured on modpack install – preventing most startup issues.
How much RAM does a Asphalt server really need?
Minimum 4 GB, recommended 6 GB for stable performance. per 8 players. Important: Minecraft modpacks need more RAM than vanilla – plan extra per additional player. With Mado Hosting, you can scale RAM up live at any time without data loss (from €8/month).
Can I add custom mods to Asphalt without conflicts?
Yes, but check compatibility: only use mods for the same loader (fabric) and same Minecraft version (26.1.2). Common issues: ID conflicts with recipe mods and incompatible coremod versions. The Mado dashboard mod browser only shows compatible mods and warns about known conflicts.
Asphalt server lagging – performance tips
1) Increase RAM to 6 GB+. 2) Reduce server view-distance to 8 (server.properties). 3) Pre-generate chunks with the "Chunky" plugin. 4) Use /spark profiler to check which mods consume the most tick time. With Mado Hosting, all servers run on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores – eliminating hardware as a bottleneck.
