b8ches SMP 1 - The Modpack
A modpack for certified b8ches who want to join our SMP!
About this Modpack
b8ches SMP - The Modpack
A collection of client-side mods used on the b8ches SMP. The mods were selected to provide a "Vanilla Plus" experience that enhances, but does not fundamentally alter, Minecraft gameplay. While some client-side mods may be safe to remove if not to your liking, some will be required by the server itself, and therefore are not removable. Tamper at your own risk.
Installation
Simply install this pack via the Modrinth launcher to get started. From there, you can add your own resource and shader packs as you wish. For a guide on how to use shaders with Iris, see here. Once you have everything you want and need, you can join the server with the link found in the Discord!
Helpful Hints (read before playing!)
- If you are on lower-end hardware, I would highly recommend disabling Distant Horizons, the distant LOD generating mod that gives you a greater render distance than Minecraft would be default, as it will likely cause you performance issues due to the increased load it will put your hardware under.
A Short Guide to disabling Distant Horizons
Open the Distant Horizons Menu in Options.
Disable "Enable Rendering" and hit "Done".
Thank you Joschino for the screenshots!
I would recommend allocating at least 4GB (4096MB) of RAM to this modpack profile without Distant Horizons, and at least 6GB (6144MB) if you are running Distant Horizons. For a guide on how to change your RAM allocation on the Modrinth launcher, see . If your device has 4GB of RAM or less, try using Mem Reduct to reduce your system RAM usage, and leave your RAM allocation as the default 2GB (2048MB), only increasing it to 3GB (3072MB) if the game is unplayable with 2GB of RAM allocated.
The mod "Spyglass Improvements" adds a key binding for your Spyglass! Simply press Z, and you'll be using your spyglass, even if it's not in your hand! Check the config in the Mod menu for other spyglass features, such as enabling a smoother camera, or switching to another overlay!
The only resource pack included, Fresh Animations, adds a ton of new animations to mobs to inject some much-needed life into their models! It may not activate by default, so double-check your resource pack settings in-game!
If you don't like having your full player model rendered in first-person, simply hit F6 to return to the vanilla first-person view. Alternatively, you can toggle it in the Mods menu. To properly use Camerapture, you will need to disable the first-person model when taking photos, else the photos you capture will contain your model holding the camera.
As we have many new blocks added by mods to enhance your designs and builds, we have EMI installed to allow you to explore the full range of blocks on offer! Click on a block to see its crafting recipe, as well as any other functions the block may have! EMI's documentation largely revolves around mod integration for developers, but you can see examples of the EMI UI in action here.
Craftify allows you to control your desktop music apps from within your game, saving you an ALT+TAB out to change your music! It currently supports Spotify, YouTube Music via YouTube Music Desktop App, Apple Music via Cider.sh, and Tidal! Craftify will provide a set-up tutorial in-game, and is perfectly safe to disable if you have no need for it.
The server features proximity voice chat via Simple Voice Chat! You will be prompted to set up your audio devices when you join, but you can press V to set it up at any time! It also integrates with Sound Physics Remastered, so you'll be able to hear other people's voices (and your own, if enabled in the SPR config) echo in caves!
The world will be affected by Seasons, which will impact the weather, flora, and crop growth! If you want more info on Serene Seasons, the mod the pack uses to achieve this, you can read about it here.
When you die, your items and 75% of your XP will be stored in a soul that will persist at the place of your death for 30 minutes after you died! Once this period expires, the soul will break and your items and XP will be at the mercy of others, and will start their despawn countdown!
