Introduction
This modpack adds the aesthetic of classic Minecraft back into the game (Beta or Alpha) along with some of its features - for a nice blend of new and old, along with new content that fits the the exploration and sandbox nature of Classic Minecraft

Take on new quests, both personal and official - accomplishing new goals & objectives and never get bored with the vast endless new content!
Mods
Performance: Uses the "Optimalsation" modpack as a baseline which is the fastest performing modpack avalible for Minecraft!
Exploration: Mods that tweak existing terrain, biomes, etc to be more like Beta - along with mods that add new structures to the game. This makes exploration way more interesting
Combat: Mods that add new dungeons and mobs, giving you new challenges to face, along with mods that tweak existing mobs to be more difficult along with adding unique bosses that can pose a serious challenge but offer worthwhile rewards!
QoL: Mods that make minecraft more user friendly, accessible and enjoyable like more intuitive keybinds, mouse handling, & much more
Disclaimer
I include my own "Options.txt" file in order to ensure the resource packs are applied by default and in the correct order. However this file also copies all my other settings from FOV, keybinds, sensitivity, etc, so be sure to tweak things to your own preference because some of them will be different from vanilla
Sprint vs No Sprint
This is probably the most controversial aspect of Alpha and Beta Minecraft is the lack of sprint, some prefer older versions but still like sprint while some want a very authentic experience. Due to its controversies its enabled by default, if you wish to disable it simply install the mod "Take It Slow" or you can install a mod that adds a stamina system to the game for a nice blend.
I've improved the speed of Minecarts and buffed horses for those of you who wish to play without it so these other methods of travel become more useful! Do note I increased the difficulty of the game in this mod & not having sprint will only make combat even more challenging.

Frequently Asked Questions
Beta Evolved server crashes or won't start – what to do?
Most common causes: insufficient RAM or wrong quilt loader. Check latest.log for "OutOfMemoryError" → increase RAM to at least 8 GB. For "Mixin" or "ClassNotFoundException" errors: modpack version and loader don't match. With Mado Hosting, loader and Minecraft version are auto-configured on modpack install – preventing most startup issues.
How much RAM does a Beta Evolved server really need?
Minimum 6 GB, recommended 8 GB for stable performance. per 5 players. Important: Minecraft modpacks need more RAM than vanilla – plan extra per additional player. With Mado Hosting, you can scale RAM up live at any time without data loss (from €12/month).
Can I add custom mods to Beta Evolved without conflicts?
Yes, but check compatibility: only use mods for the same loader (quilt) and same Minecraft version (1.20.1). Common issues: ID conflicts with recipe mods and incompatible coremod versions. The Mado dashboard mod browser only shows compatible mods and warns about known conflicts.
Beta Evolved server lagging – performance tips
1) Increase RAM to 8 GB+. 2) Reduce server view-distance to 8 (server.properties). 3) Pre-generate chunks with the "Chunky" plugin. 4) Use /spark profiler to check which mods consume the most tick time. With Mado Hosting, all servers run on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores – eliminating hardware as a bottleneck.
