About this Modpack

Brutality Banner

Archived, may come back to it in the future but as of right now I have no interest in continuing with this project.

Ever wanted to play a really brutal modpack? One that isn't all about tech making it almost impossible to make something without it requiring 20 steps? Well this is an adventure modpack, a brutal challenge, aimed at making it almost impossible to survive and beat the normal game.

  • Mods solely added for the purpose of making it harder to survive naturally
  • Mods added for the extra mobs designed to kill you

This modpack makes everything brutal, everything is a challenge just to survive. Just starting out will be difficult to survive with even the passive mobs trying to attack and kill you. Doing anything is just hard, with a stamina system in place, making simple tasks a lot more harder.

You just need to find it...
Find the way to beat the game...
Beat the Dragon...
Survive.
Live.
Prosper.

More Info
  • This modpack features progressive difficulty, progressive difficulty increases the difficulty of the game over time. Mobs will get stronger and harder to kill.
  • Mob AI's are pretty much overwritten by mods such as Improved Mobs. Along with a few other Mob AI enhancing mods.
  • Ender Dragon Fight is remastered, making it a lot more difficult to kill
  • Trying to find the stronghold is lot more difficult with End Remastered, adding different eyes to find across the world
  • Early-game progression is a lot more tedious with you having to make flint tools in order to break trees, not to mention trees take longer to break.
  • There are mods in the pack that aim to make surviving in the wilderness a lot more realistic and lot more tougher to survive in Minecraft.
  • With Enigmatic Legacy, its adds two items to your inventory upon joining the new world. You can equip either one of them, or none at all. It entirely your choice on that matter.
    • One makes the game even more impossible to beat
    • The other trinket will help a tiny bit in your progression to the Ender Dragon
  • This modpack is meant to make the overwhelmingly difficult to play, it designed to be that way.
  • You can remove any mods you want to make it easier on yourself though if you want the challenge I suggest leaving as is.
  • There are ways to make surviving a little easier in the world, but there are no tips/tricks for better survival, you just have to play and figure out how to survive.
  • Mobs are erratic and are much different from the Vanilla counterparts, pair that with modded creatures as well any tips for surviving will not help

Suggestions:

  • My suggestion to help you better survive. Is to build high in the sky. Mobs can in fact build but they only do it when they are in view distance. Their view distance is in fact increased by a lot so I suggest building really really high up to avoid any catastrophes that may happen.
    • Monsters can also fly on Phantoms so if you don't build high enough, they will fly up above your base and drop monsters on your roof.
    • Also Digging down is the worse thing you can do. I will tell you that. Zombies can dig, pretty fast as well. Your are not safe underground they will find you much much easier that way.

Frequently Asked Questions

Brutality server crashes or won't start – what to do?

Most common causes: insufficient RAM or wrong forge loader. Check latest.log for "OutOfMemoryError" → increase RAM to at least 8 GB. For "Mixin" or "ClassNotFoundException" errors: modpack version and loader don't match. With Mado Hosting, loader and Minecraft version are auto-configured on modpack install – preventing most startup issues.

How much RAM does a Brutality server really need?

Minimum 6 GB, recommended 8 GB for stable performance. per 5 players. Important: Minecraft modpacks need more RAM than vanilla – plan extra per additional player. With Mado Hosting, you can scale RAM up live at any time without data loss (from €12/month).

Can I add custom mods to Brutality without conflicts?

Yes, but check compatibility: only use mods for the same loader (forge) and same Minecraft version (1.19.2). Common issues: ID conflicts with recipe mods and incompatible coremod versions. The Mado dashboard mod browser only shows compatible mods and warns about known conflicts.

Brutality server lagging – performance tips

1) Increase RAM to 8 GB+. 2) Reduce server view-distance to 8 (server.properties). 3) Pre-generate chunks with the "Chunky" plugin. 4) Use /spark profiler to check which mods consume the most tick time. With Mado Hosting, all servers run on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores – eliminating hardware as a bottleneck.
