About this Modpack

Title

(The modpack still has nothing to do with bubbles. That's just the name of our group, and the icon is our mascot!)

Bubble Cobble Redux is the sequel to our prior modpack, targetted to the members of our semi-private friend group, but potentially enjoyable by others, as well. It is designed to be played in a community setting where people come and go all the time, for the purpose of building both structures and Pokémon teams!

This modpack has been remade, by me alone, from the ground up in order to target 1.21.1, and is notably less of a kitchen sink compared to last time. It is heavily focused on integrating the original mainstays better, embellishing the mood with new sounds and particles, all the while introducing a few neat things just for the spectacle of it.

Most people are here for Cobblemon which, thanks in part to a few other mods, integrates greatly with both Create and Farmer's Delight. All three receive additional fodder to crunch your teeth in. People are particularly fond of the Raid Dens!
The world is prettier than ever to explore thanks to both Biomes o' Plenty and Oh The Biomes We've Gone combined, all kept varied thanks to mods like Enhanced Celestials.
Supplementaries and its vanilla-like gadgets are quite the wonderful addition too. Last, but not least, the ease-of-use yet complex sorting provided by Sophisticated Storage & co. is not to be underestimated.

As it stands, the modpack includes exclusive features, such as:

  • Bubble-Cobble food and drinks! Brewable from a Keg.
    • Bubble-Cobble food and drinks
  • A Food Diversity system, rewarding varied susteinance by having to eat less, and notably faster!
  • Many, many subtle-yet-notable quality-of-life changes to encourage building comfortably, but still within the limitations of Survival.
    • No more slabs, no more stairs in your inventory. Clutter No More, with additional tweaks to ease you in on the new mechanic.
    • Common monsters are generally toned down. Creepers are not destructive, Ghasts ever so slightly more, poor Endermen are forever in pain, and generally fewer hostiles at night.
    • Useful building items. A Trowel if you're feeling random, a Ruler if you're feeling accurate...
  • Specialized sounds and particles when performing certain actions, such as when grabbing items or opening menus. Stylish!
  • A curated, client-side set of... Mod Sets to further tweak your experience!
  • Radial menus designed to ease you in and toggle everything to your liking.
  • Nicknames! Nicknames for everyone.
  • Exceedingly helpful tips!
  • And several... inside jokes and easter eggs. For the people, y'see.
Hooray

Frequently Asked Questions

Bubble Cobble Redux server crashes or won't start – what to do?

Most common causes: insufficient RAM or wrong neoforge loader. Check latest.log for "OutOfMemoryError" → increase RAM to at least 8 GB. For "Mixin" or "ClassNotFoundException" errors: modpack version and loader don't match. With Mado Hosting, loader and Minecraft version are auto-configured on modpack install – preventing most startup issues.

How much RAM does a Bubble Cobble Redux server really need?

Minimum 6 GB, recommended 8 GB for stable performance. per 5 players. Important: Minecraft modpacks need more RAM than vanilla – plan extra per additional player. With Mado Hosting, you can scale RAM up live at any time without data loss (from €12/month).

Can I add custom mods to Bubble Cobble Redux without conflicts?

Yes, but check compatibility: only use mods for the same loader (neoforge) and same Minecraft version (1.21.1). Common issues: ID conflicts with recipe mods and incompatible coremod versions. The Mado dashboard mod browser only shows compatible mods and warns about known conflicts.

Bubble Cobble Redux server lagging – performance tips

1) Increase RAM to 8 GB+. 2) Reduce server view-distance to 8 (server.properties). 3) Pre-generate chunks with the "Chunky" plugin. 4) Use /spark profiler to check which mods consume the most tick time. With Mado Hosting, all servers run on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores – eliminating hardware as a bottleneck.
