About this Modpack

Welcome to CaloCraft 2.0!
DISCLAIMER: Only the LEGACY (1.0 and 1.1) Branches are on 1.20.1, only 2.0 is on 1.21.1!
What is CaloCraft?
CaloCraft is a Modpack that I created to enchance Minecraft to the point that it is what I would consider a satisfying experience. The modpack creates a sense of life in the world. I want the world to feel lived in, and not simply existing around the player.
CaloCraft 2.0 is in Beta!
CaloCraft 2 was rebuilt from the ground up for 1.21.1 and will replace CaloCraft Legacy as the main version when more of the major mods from 1.20.1 are updated. Since I am not a mod developer, I have no timeline on when 2.0 will be "finished". But as more of the Legacy mods get updated, 2.0 will follow in suit. I am currently happy with it as it stands as the performance of 2.0 is significantly superior to Legacy.
CaloCraft 2.0 New Features:
- Updated Trial Chambers
- Craftable Tridents, Saddles and Leather
- Farmers Delight
- Return of Waystones
- Veinminer as a Feature, not an enchantment
- Revamped Difficulty
- New Enchantments and Less Enchantment Restrictions
- I.e Mending and Infinity on the same Bow
- New Sounds
- Footsteps and World Ambience
- New Particle Interactions
Mods that I am looking to port forward are as follows:
- Adventures in Time
- Hybrid Aquatic
- Aquamirae
- Naturalist
- Good Ending
- WilderNature
- Enderman Overhaul
Performance
The now-scrapped Legacy 1.2 Update was just barely able to hit 60FPS and suffered from severe FPS stutters and crashes.
2.0 is now able to hit 90-120FPS at 16 Chunks of Render Distance and Complimentary Unbound with Integrated PBR enabled.
The system that both 1.2 and 2.0 were tested on has an RTX 4070 and Ryzen 7 9700X with 64GB of RAM, with 20GB allocated to the installation instance
2.0 can run with 10-12GB of Allocated RAM comfortably. 8GB is possible but do expect some performance hitches.
Currently, 2.0 is missing the TARDIS, Various Mob additions, such as Aquamirae, Hybrid Aquatic and various other mods that added a sense of life to the world.
Not every mod from Legacy will be ported to 2.0, as the now scrapped 1.2 update for Legacy caused significant performance issues.

Frequently Asked Questions
CaloCraft 2 server crashes or won't start – what to do?
Most common causes: insufficient RAM or wrong fabric loader. Check latest.log for "OutOfMemoryError" → increase RAM to at least 8 GB. For "Mixin" or "ClassNotFoundException" errors: modpack version and loader don't match. With Mado Hosting, loader and Minecraft version are auto-configured on modpack install – preventing most startup issues.
How much RAM does a CaloCraft 2 server really need?
Minimum 6 GB, recommended 8 GB for stable performance. per 5 players. Important: Minecraft modpacks need more RAM than vanilla – plan extra per additional player. With Mado Hosting, you can scale RAM up live at any time without data loss (from €12/month).
Can I add custom mods to CaloCraft 2 without conflicts?
Yes, but check compatibility: only use mods for the same loader (fabric) and same Minecraft version (1.21.1). Common issues: ID conflicts with recipe mods and incompatible coremod versions. The Mado dashboard mod browser only shows compatible mods and warns about known conflicts.
CaloCraft 2 server lagging – performance tips
1) Increase RAM to 8 GB+. 2) Reduce server view-distance to 8 (server.properties). 3) Pre-generate chunks with the "Chunky" plugin. 4) Use /spark profiler to check which mods consume the most tick time. With Mado Hosting, all servers run on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores – eliminating hardware as a bottleneck.
