About this Modpack
COG IN THE MACHINE
A pack focused on Create, performance and warfare.
EXPAND, AUTOMATE, DESTROY...
.. is the mantra behind CiTM. With Create and many of it's addons, you can automate most processes and then use the resources to make different weapons of war - guns, cannons, planes, blimps, you name it, there's at least a 57% chance you can make it.
(there would've been a 100% chance if Clockwork wasn't incompatible with Create 6)
GENERAL INFO
This modpack is meant to be used on a factions server with actual diplomacy and trade - y'know, making alliances, selling oil, conquering others and all that. In fact, the entire reason I first made this was to use on a server with my buddies. As such, I've added a few mods like C: Big Cannons, Immersive Aircraft and C: Gunsmithing to spice conflicts up a bit, with the driving force behind said conflicts being C: TFMG's oil.
Now, you may rightfully assume that I'm dumb because there's no way oil would be war-sparking levels of important when there are many different ways to generate SU in Create. Although I can't argue with me being dumb, I can certainly say that oil would be important if you were to, let's say, ban all non-oil-consuming sources of SU except for handcranks, which is exactly what I did with my server. (ban not remove cuz idk how to do that) Throw in legal protection on a faction's structures and machines that are within a natural village or it's surrounding chunks, around oil fields and in the nether unless you're in a war as well as a massively decreased world border and you've got yourself a quite american casus belli generator.
Of course, these are all just my ideas for a server with this pack, as you can do whatever the hell you want with it. Just know that playing this solo probably won't be any better than other Create-centric packs here on Modrinth.

Frequently Asked Questions
Cog In The Machine server crashes or won't start – what to do?
Most common causes: insufficient RAM or wrong forge loader. Check latest.log for "OutOfMemoryError" → increase RAM to at least 8 GB. For "Mixin" or "ClassNotFoundException" errors: modpack version and loader don't match. With Mado Hosting, loader and Minecraft version are auto-configured on modpack install – preventing most startup issues.
How much RAM does a Cog In The Machine server really need?
Minimum 6 GB, recommended 8 GB for stable performance. per 5 players. Important: Minecraft modpacks need more RAM than vanilla – plan extra per additional player. With Mado Hosting, you can scale RAM up live at any time without data loss (from €12/month).
Can I add custom mods to Cog In The Machine without conflicts?
Yes, but check compatibility: only use mods for the same loader (forge) and same Minecraft version (1.20.1). Common issues: ID conflicts with recipe mods and incompatible coremod versions. The Mado dashboard mod browser only shows compatible mods and warns about known conflicts.
Cog In The Machine server lagging – performance tips
1) Increase RAM to 8 GB+. 2) Reduce server view-distance to 8 (server.properties). 3) Pre-generate chunks with the "Chunky" plugin. 4) Use /spark profiler to check which mods consume the most tick time. With Mado Hosting, all servers run on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores – eliminating hardware as a bottleneck.
