Core Features
- Ultra-Lightweight: The modpack has less than 30 mods; pre-generating an 8000x8000 map with Chunky only takes 2 hours.
- Looting + Vanilla Progression: Scavenge for supplies in the abundant villages or quickly head underground for mining.
- Everything is Fast: Starting gear + a "Godspeed Pickaxe" + dense villages eliminate most "downtime," making the total game duration 25 minutes.
- Safe Start: Spawn points distributed in a Golden Spiral pattern + a 30-second invincibility period for all players at the start, preventing "spawn-killing".
Key Advantages
- Zone Mechanism: Native client-side support for non-vanilla boundary shapes like circular and spherical zone detection and rendering.
- Fast-Paced: 25-minute rounds, initial acceleration, very low system requirements, compatible with short play sessions.
- Framework Extensibility: The modpack includes highly customizable configuration files, allowing it to be quickly converted to other PvP forms like gunplay or magic by adding extra mods.
- Backward Compatibility: Can be reverted to UHC by using regular polygon rendering, extending the shrink time, reducing structure density, and cancelling loot generations.
Game Flow
The game area is a circle with a radius of 500. The zone shrinks in 5 stages, each lasting 5 minutes:
- Initial Phase: Players spawn within a radius of 400. The boundary radius shrinks from 500 to 400.
- Phase 2/3/4: At the start of the stage, a Bombing Zone + Supply Drop Zone are generated. The center of these zones is attracted by the collective center point of all remaining living players.
- Phase 5: The safe zone changes from a circle to a sphere and gradually shrinks its radius, bringing underground players back to the surface.
Detailed Explanation
- Starting Gear (9 slots): Efficiency X Unbreaking III Wooden Axe, Efficiency X Unbreaking III Iron Pickaxe, Cherry Wood Planks x64, Basalt x64, Ender Pearl, Crafting Table, Furnace, Torch x16, Campfire x3.
- The Bombing Zone continuously expands its radius for 30 seconds, generating 10 random TNT explosions per second, followed by 60 seconds of random supply drops.
- Spawned loot has low durability, while items crafted from mined resources have full durability.
- All containers are subject to loot refresh, covering Nether and End items.
- The Phase 5 Sphere starts at the collective center of all remaining living players, constantly shrinking and moving towards (0, 64, 0).

Frequently Asked Questions
Custom Fast Hardcore server crashes or won't start – what to do?
Most common causes: insufficient RAM or wrong neoforge loader. Check latest.log for "OutOfMemoryError" → increase RAM to at least 6 GB. For "Mixin" or "ClassNotFoundException" errors: modpack version and loader don't match. With Mado Hosting, loader and Minecraft version are auto-configured on modpack install – preventing most startup issues.
How much RAM does a Custom Fast Hardcore server really need?
Minimum 4 GB, recommended 6 GB for stable performance. per 5 players. Important: Minecraft modpacks need more RAM than vanilla – plan extra per additional player. With Mado Hosting, you can scale RAM up live at any time without data loss (from €8/month).
Can I add custom mods to Custom Fast Hardcore without conflicts?
Yes, but check compatibility: only use mods for the same loader (neoforge) and same Minecraft version (1.21.11). Common issues: ID conflicts with recipe mods and incompatible coremod versions. The Mado dashboard mod browser only shows compatible mods and warns about known conflicts.
Custom Fast Hardcore server lagging – performance tips
1) Increase RAM to 6 GB+. 2) Reduce server view-distance to 8 (server.properties). 3) Pre-generate chunks with the "Chunky" plugin. 4) Use /spark profiler to check which mods consume the most tick time. With Mado Hosting, all servers run on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores – eliminating hardware as a bottleneck.
