About this Modpack
🪓 Explorers' Toolkit
Exploration-focused world generation
The main goal of this modpack is to make exploration more meaningful. The world is filled with new places to discover: temples hidden in the forest, expanded cave systems, ancient ruins beneath the surface, detailed villages, strange monuments in the sea, and custom-built dungeons scattered around the map.
These additions are designed to blend naturally into the world, encouraging exploration without making things feel too chaotic or cluttered. You can still recognize your surroundings — there’s just a lot more waiting to be found.
Lightweight and optimized
Mods like Embeddium, Rubidium Eats, and other backend optimizations are included to improve FPS and reduce lag, especially during exploration or when loading complex structures.
The pack avoids heavy overhauls and large mod systems to keep load times fast and performance stable, even on mid-range hardware. If you’ve had trouble running large modpacks before, this one aims to stay accessible.
Vanilla-friendly balance
Despite the extra content, the game still plays like Minecraft. There are no complex RPG systems, massive tech trees, or drastic gameplay changes. Instead, this pack focuses on expanding what’s already there.
It’s easy to jump in and play — no wiki reading or tutorials required. The mods are chosen to feel like natural extensions of the base game, making it perfect for casual survival players, builders, and explorers alike.

Frequently Asked Questions
Explorers' Toolkit server crashes or won't start – what to do?
Most common causes: insufficient RAM or wrong forge loader. Check latest.log for "OutOfMemoryError" → increase RAM to at least 8 GB. For "Mixin" or "ClassNotFoundException" errors: modpack version and loader don't match. With Mado Hosting, loader and Minecraft version are auto-configured on modpack install – preventing most startup issues.
How much RAM does a Explorers' Toolkit server really need?
Minimum 6 GB, recommended 8 GB for stable performance. per 5 players. Important: Minecraft modpacks need more RAM than vanilla – plan extra per additional player. With Mado Hosting, you can scale RAM up live at any time without data loss (from €12/month).
Can I add custom mods to Explorers' Toolkit without conflicts?
Yes, but check compatibility: only use mods for the same loader (forge) and same Minecraft version (1.20.1). Common issues: ID conflicts with recipe mods and incompatible coremod versions. The Mado dashboard mod browser only shows compatible mods and warns about known conflicts.
Explorers' Toolkit server lagging – performance tips
1) Increase RAM to 8 GB+. 2) Reduce server view-distance to 8 (server.properties). 3) Pre-generate chunks with the "Chunky" plugin. 4) Use /spark profiler to check which mods consume the most tick time. With Mado Hosting, all servers run on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores – eliminating hardware as a bottleneck.
