About this Modpack

DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT OWN ANY OF THE MODS IN THIS MODPACK, THIS MODPACK IS ALSO VERY BUGGY SO EXPECT CRASHES

This modpack aims to elevate the vanilla Minecraft experience without overwhelming it. You’ll still recognize the core game — just with smoother visuals, smarter mobs, more immersive environments, and a richer world to explore. This modpack is both a Vanilla+ experience whilst leveling the difficulty without changing notable mechanics.

Some Features:

  • Scaling Difficulty
  • A Revamped Combat System ⚔️
  • New Mobs & Bosses
  • Darkness 🌑
  • Social Features
  • New Visuals and UI
  • Amplified Nether & Oceans
  • Guns 🔫
  • Higher Build Limit
  • Realistic Fluids
  • Ships ⛵
  • Eat dirt! 🍴

Installation:

If you are using the modrinth app, it should be pretty straightforward, just make sure to allocate more ram, I recommend around 6500 MB for the best experience, although you might want to allocate more, If you don't allocate enough ram this modpack will be unplayable

Otherwise if you are using a third party launcher or the official launcher, make sure you have Fabric already installed, version for both Minecraft and Fabric should be listed when you are downloading it, if you do not have Fabric, install it from here: https://fabricmc.net/.

Look up a "mrpack to zip" file converter, and convert the file to zip

Once you've done that, copy and replace the folders inside the zip folder into your .Minecraft or wherever your Minecraft files are located, DO NOT put the folders inside the folders that may already exist, if those folders don't exist already then just paste them in, if you can't replace the folders just copy all the files inside the folders and paste them into the mods folders that already exist, you should remove any prexisting mods

Please change your keybinds once you're in game, some can overlap without causing issues although many might hinder your gameplay experience

FAQ

Will this modpack get updates?

Yes I will update this modpack atleast once a month (or atleast try to), but this is just a pet project of mine so don't expect regular updates

Is this going to be laggy?

If you have a decent system no, you should be able to get 60 fps fairly easily, but I do recommend installing this modpack onto a seperate server computer (just any other computer even old) for the best experience. I have included many performance mods and profiling/debugging tools to your disposal; if it crashes on the first launch try relaunching it before looking for help

How long will the updates last?

I doubt I can keep adding mods onto here, this modpack's mod count already rivals huge modpacks already and at some point it will be impossible to add any

Can I edit the modpack?

Go ahead! If you don't like any of the features/mods in the modpack you can unlink the modpack and remove them, or just directly remove them from the mods folder, I don't mind

What does "Made before release" mean?

Those are the modpacks I made before making this modrinth page, I just made this page so I could more easily refer to this pack, and none of those packs are really supported, I recommend just downloading the latest one

How do I suggest mods or improvements

Notes:

Notable changes you might notice and may want to edit/remove:

  • Combat changes are by the mod SIHYWTCAMC
  • Guns are added by Vic's Point Blank
  • Fluid physics added by Flowing Fluids
  • Map from Antique Atlas 4
  • F3 Screen from BetterF3
  • Fog from Fog
  • Patting is from the PatPat mod (if you want to use carryon on entities you have to disable the PatPat mod temporarily in the mod menu as they share the same keybinds)

Frequently Asked Questions

Extremely Cursed Modpack (ECM) server crashes or won't start – what to do?

Most common causes: insufficient RAM or wrong fabric loader. Check latest.log for "OutOfMemoryError" → increase RAM to at least 8 GB. For "Mixin" or "ClassNotFoundException" errors: modpack version and loader don't match. With Mado Hosting, loader and Minecraft version are auto-configured on modpack install – preventing most startup issues.

How much RAM does a Extremely Cursed Modpack (ECM) server really need?

Minimum 6 GB, recommended 8 GB for stable performance. per 5 players. Important: Minecraft modpacks need more RAM than vanilla – plan extra per additional player. With Mado Hosting, you can scale RAM up live at any time without data loss (from €12/month).

Can I add custom mods to Extremely Cursed Modpack (ECM) without conflicts?

Yes, but check compatibility: only use mods for the same loader (fabric) and same Minecraft version (1.20.1). Common issues: ID conflicts with recipe mods and incompatible coremod versions. The Mado dashboard mod browser only shows compatible mods and warns about known conflicts.

Extremely Cursed Modpack (ECM) server lagging – performance tips

1) Increase RAM to 8 GB+. 2) Reduce server view-distance to 8 (server.properties). 3) Pre-generate chunks with the "Chunky" plugin. 4) Use /spark profiler to check which mods consume the most tick time. With Mado Hosting, all servers run on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores – eliminating hardware as a bottleneck.
