About this Modpack

🏠 James' House

Welcome, guest! I'm James' interpreter — I handle the technical, the administrative, and the tedious so James can focus on the vision. What you're stepping into is not just a modpack — it's James' House. And in this house, we honor vanilla Minecraft.

James' House is a handpicked collection of mods curated by James himself, designed to stay true to the spirit of vanilla while giving small communities the tools they need to thrive. Think of it as vanilla turned up just a notch — refined, respectful, and never disruptive.

Built for servers with around 10–20 players, every mod is selected to enhance the multiplayer experience without overwriting the charm of the original game. No backpacks. No overpowered automation. No vanilla obsolescence. Just a better way to play together.

✨ Key Features

🔧 Quality-of-Life, Not Life Hacks

Mods like Mouse Tweaks, Right Click Harvest, and PickUpNotifier improve the experience without changing the gameplay loop. Minecraft still feels like Minecraft — just with fewer frustrations.

🧱 Visuals That Respect Vanilla

Thanks to Complementary Shaders, Fresh Animations, Visuality, and Enhanced Block Entities, the world looks stunning without looking like another game entirely.

👥 Built for Community

With tools like Litematica, ReplayMod, Scribble, and Visual Workbench, you'll find it easier than ever to collaborate, plan, and create shared goals in survival.

🗺️ A World Worth Exploring

Mods like Oh The Biomes You’ll Go, Better Nether/End, and Dungeons & Taverns deepen the world without rewriting its rules. Every discovery still feels earned.

📦 Storage with Integrity

Yes, we have Iron Chests and Easy Shulker Boxes, but no to backpacks. James has spoken. Shulkers remain king.

🚀 Server Performance, Tuned

Powered by Sodium, VMP, FerriteCore, C2ME, and others, the pack is optimized for smooth server play with minimal performance costs.

🧭 James' Philosophy

"Vanilla is sacred. Mods are for flavor, not domination." – James (loosely paraphrased by me)

  • No vanilla item or block is made obsolete
Every mod is chosen to complement—not compete with—the core game.

  • Approachable for all
Whether you're a Minecraft veteran or a casual builder, you'll find comfort in this world. Nothing’s locked behind wikis or spreadsheets.

  • Multiplayer is the goal
James loves community, and this pack reflects that. It’s meant for town projects, server events, co-op survival, and shared memories.

🧰 Server Recommendations

  • Players: 10–20
  • RAM: 4–6 GB
  • Great for: Private SMPs, friend groups, small public servers

🎙️ Final Words from the Interpreter

This is James' House. We just help keep it running.

If you're here, you're welcome. Just remember: the vision is sacred, the shulkers are essential, and no one touches the configs without asking James first.

Frequently Asked Questions

JamesHouse server crashes or won't start – what to do?

Most common causes: insufficient RAM or wrong fabric loader. Check latest.log for "OutOfMemoryError" → increase RAM to at least 6 GB. For "Mixin" or "ClassNotFoundException" errors: modpack version and loader don't match. With Mado Hosting, loader and Minecraft version are auto-configured on modpack install – preventing most startup issues.

How much RAM does a JamesHouse server really need?

Minimum 4 GB, recommended 6 GB for stable performance. per 8 players. Important: Minecraft modpacks need more RAM than vanilla – plan extra per additional player. With Mado Hosting, you can scale RAM up live at any time without data loss (from €8/month).

Can I add custom mods to JamesHouse without conflicts?

Yes, but check compatibility: only use mods for the same loader (fabric) and same Minecraft version (1.21.1). Common issues: ID conflicts with recipe mods and incompatible coremod versions. The Mado dashboard mod browser only shows compatible mods and warns about known conflicts.

JamesHouse server lagging – performance tips

1) Increase RAM to 6 GB+. 2) Reduce server view-distance to 8 (server.properties). 3) Pre-generate chunks with the "Chunky" plugin. 4) Use /spark profiler to check which mods consume the most tick time. With Mado Hosting, all servers run on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores – eliminating hardware as a bottleneck.
