Just Not Vanilla
A 1.20.4 vanilla-adjacent modpack featuring Fixed Minecraft, Deeper and Darker, and Immersive Portals!
About this Modpack
This modpack was created to feature the mod "Fixed Minecraft", which gives a snapshot of what Minecraft could be like if there was a new balance to the game's core mechanics. To add some spice for those who are used to a modded experience, but trying to get back into Vanilla, Deeper and Darker was added alongside Immersive Portals (with its sister mods Pehkui and Gravity Changer API).
With custom resources and data packs to complement Xali's Potions and add parity with Deeper and Darker, Fixed Minecraft and Gravity Changer API, this modpack offers an integrated experience different from kitchen-sink modpacks.
Chock-full of performance mods and running on the lowest settings by default pretty much any computer should be able to run this well enough, but that doesn't mean it can't take advantage of more powerful systems-- Both Distant Horizons and Iris are featured as well. The modpack comes with BSL Shaders by default, as it's shown to be the most compatible with the included mods (Bliss Shaders is unfortunately quite glitchy with most of the mods that interact with rendering).
Using resource packs from creepermax123, Unearthed, and Vanilla Tweaks.

For "Mixin" or "ClassNotFoundException" errors: modpack version and loader don't match. With Mado Hosting, loader and Minecraft version are auto-configured on modpack install – preventing most startup issues.
How much RAM does a Just Not Vanilla server really need?
Minimum 6 GB, recommended 8 GB for stable performance. per 5 players. Important: Minecraft modpacks need more RAM than vanilla – plan extra per additional player. With Mado Hosting, you can scale RAM up live at any time without data loss (from €12/month).
Can I add custom mods to Just Not Vanilla without conflicts?
Yes, but check compatibility: only use mods for the same loader (fabric) and same Minecraft version (1.20.4). Common issues: ID conflicts with recipe mods and incompatible coremod versions. The Mado dashboard mod browser only shows compatible mods and warns about known conflicts.
Just Not Vanilla server lagging – performance tips
1) Increase RAM to 8 GB+. 2) Reduce server view-distance to 8 (server.properties). 3) Pre-generate chunks with the "Chunky" plugin. 4) Use /spark profiler to check which mods consume the most tick time.
