About this Modpack

Modern Medieval is a modpack witch tries to add interesting features to the game in a way to not touch advanced electronics mods to mutch. It does it by:

‧ having two shaderpacks preinstalled by default (patrix for low end pc's and shrimple for more powerfull pc's)
‧ coming built in with the patrix resource pack (for the medieval sides of things)
‧ having distant horizon for better immersion when playing the game
‧ having a whole lot of optimizations mods (just for the modpack not to run like a potato)
‧ having loads of world generation mods that try to not add any blocks (for best compatibility with patrix)
and a whole lot more

since the servers for this modpack are pretty underpowered (I self host them), please try to keep the playercount low, as the server will easely lag, you wont even need to grief to make crash the server. Beware...

How to Set Up a Modern Medieval Server

Order Server

Choose at least 6 GB RAM (8 GB recommended for Modern Medieval). Based on player count: per 5 players.

Install Modpack in Dashboard

Open the modpack browser in the dashboard, search for "Modern Medieval" and click "Install". The fabric loader and Minecraft 1.20.1 are configured automatically.

Start Server & Play

Start the server – all mods are loaded automatically. Share the server IP with friends and play together!

Modern Medieval server crashes or won't start – what to do?

Most common causes: insufficient RAM or wrong fabric loader. Check latest.log for "OutOfMemoryError" → increase RAM to at least 8 GB. For "Mixin" or "ClassNotFoundException" errors: modpack version and loader don't match. How much RAM does a Modern Medieval server really need?
