About this Modpack

Magnolia is a 1.21.1 magic modpack focusing on world dynamics and interaction.
⚠️ Before You Play...
Magnolia is not a finished modpack, and does not currently reflect the final state I wish to see it in. It is still playable, some things just might not work as intended. You may find features that are broken, unpolished, or otherwise incomplete. The pack contains several mods and features that are not stable yet, and you may encounter strange happenings. Please report any all issues you find.It was made with multiplayer in mind, built specifically for Hyacinth, the sister server of the pack. Keystone features and ideas of the pack include:
- Esoterica: You are expected to figure things out on your own, or with the help of friends. Many mechanics in the pack completely deviate from how they function in Vanilla (or even modded!) There are no quests or tutorials, and only a few things to guide you—learn with time.
- Challenging Simplicity: You're meant to have a reason to go out and explore the world, but only once you're ready. The pack is by no means a cakewalk.
- Variety: Progression is more varied than Iron -> Diamond -> Netherite. The enchants you choose and the tools you bring matter far more.
Pack Performance
- Allocate atleast 4 GB of ram to Minecraft. Singleplayer can be very RAM hungry, and if you can, allocate 6-8 GB.
- If you have a bad PC or are running Minecraft on a HDD, remove Distant Horizons.

Frequently Asked Questions
Magnolia server crashes or won't start – what to do?
Most common causes: insufficient RAM or wrong fabric loader. Check latest.log for "OutOfMemoryError" → increase RAM to at least 8 GB. For "Mixin" or "ClassNotFoundException" errors: modpack version and loader don't match. With Mado Hosting, loader and Minecraft version are auto-configured on modpack install – preventing most startup issues.
How much RAM does a Magnolia server really need?
Minimum 6 GB, recommended 8 GB for stable performance. per 5 players. Important: Minecraft modpacks need more RAM than vanilla – plan extra per additional player. With Mado Hosting, you can scale RAM up live at any time without data loss (from €12/month).
Can I add custom mods to Magnolia without conflicts?
Yes, but check compatibility: only use mods for the same loader (fabric) and same Minecraft version (1.21.1). Common issues: ID conflicts with recipe mods and incompatible coremod versions. The Mado dashboard mod browser only shows compatible mods and warns about known conflicts.
Magnolia server lagging – performance tips
1) Increase RAM to 8 GB+. 2) Reduce server view-distance to 8 (server.properties). 3) Pre-generate chunks with the "Chunky" plugin. 4) Use /spark profiler to check which mods consume the most tick time. With Mado Hosting, all servers run on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores – eliminating hardware as a bottleneck.
