Excerpt from "Mystic SMP Opening Script"

Mystic. A land of awe and wonder. At least... it was... until evil seeped in through cracks in reality, later known as "Nether Portals." The portals were opened by adventurers from all over the land. They sought to tame the desolate wasteland for their own personal gain. An entity as old as the land itself, known as "The Wizard," used his mastery of magic to control these opened portals and prevent the spread of this evil back into our world. Soon, otherworldly beings would enter through these portals, causing chaos and destruction wherever they set foot. "The Wizard" lost control over the portals, which allowed the spread of evil into our world.

This evil overran the world with spiked valleys of netherrack and lava seas. People and children alike began dying in the harsh conditions. I couldn't change what was unleashed upon the world I made. It became but a shadow of its former self. "The Wizard" used his remaining reserves of magic to send the evil back into the seams of reality. His plan failed, creating a far worse darkness that would deprive him of the magic he used to fight it.

The land was all but lifeless. A fierce band of heroes, together with "The Wizard," set out to tame and subdue this darkness. These heroes fought valiantly as they worked together to enact a plan that would seal away the darkness for good. Fortified strongholds were constructed, and housed portals capable of holding this new darkness. One final battle sent the darkness back into these "End Portals" and successfully entrapped the evil in a dimension of its own. The focusing crystals, or eyes, were destroyed in pits of superheated lava. This final destructive act ensured no one could dare to release this evil back into the world.

For years, the world celebrated the victory. These Heroes of Mystic would become the stuff of legend and myth. As time went on, the world settled into this idea of peace. Our heroes became nothing more than bedtime stories told to the village children. "The Wizard" held onto the old ways of life, receding into a newly constructed tower of his own design. He sought to regain control of the magic he once wielded. Nothing stopped him from the idea that one day the evil would return.
Your arrival in lands unfamiliar to you leads me to believe that "The Wizard" may be right. This evil, this darkness, may be returning to our lands, and I fear that even I won't be able to stop it. Go forth, Adventurers. My world no longer has the luxury of waiting. Wake up.

Frequently Asked Questions

Mystic SMP server crashes or won't start – what to do?

Most common causes: insufficient RAM or wrong quilt loader. Check latest.log for "OutOfMemoryError" → increase RAM to at least 8 GB. For "Mixin" or "ClassNotFoundException" errors: modpack version and loader don't match. With Mado Hosting, loader and Minecraft version are auto-configured on modpack install – preventing most startup issues.

How much RAM does a Mystic SMP server really need?

Minimum 6 GB, recommended 8 GB for stable performance. per 5 players. Important: Minecraft modpacks need more RAM than vanilla – plan extra per additional player. With Mado Hosting, you can scale RAM up live at any time without data loss (from €12/month).

Can I add custom mods to Mystic SMP without conflicts?

Yes, but check compatibility: only use mods for the same loader (quilt) and same Minecraft version (1.20.1). Common issues: ID conflicts with recipe mods and incompatible coremod versions. The Mado dashboard mod browser only shows compatible mods and warns about known conflicts.

Mystic SMP server lagging – performance tips

1) Increase RAM to 8 GB+. 2) Reduce server view-distance to 8 (server.properties). 3) Pre-generate chunks with the "Chunky" plugin. 4) Use /spark profiler to check which mods consume the most tick time. With Mado Hosting, all servers run on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores – eliminating hardware as a bottleneck.
