About this Modpack

About the modpack:
Nerbvival is a lightweight modpack designed to be updated to the most current version of Minecraft, should the core content mods be updated as well. As time goes on, mods will be added and removed but will never reach the point of being a full experience changing modpack. The intention is to keep the mod list as trimmed down as possible, avoiding duplicate mods and mods that change the core vanilla Minecraft gameplay too heavily. It's best to think of it as "vanilla, with a few extra mods."

FAQ:
Q: Will you add [mod]?
A: No, not by request, the modpack should be light enough for any mod to be added on your own and not have things break.
Q: When will the modpack be updated to 1.21+?
A: It will be updated when all of the core mods (mods that need to be present or else existing saves will break) update and verified as working. The first updated version will be marked as Alpha/Beta.
Q: Help! I need assistance with something! I'm crashing/bugged/ect.
A: Not a question, check how much memory you're allocating to the pack (should be around ~3-4GB), but if you need help, then you can contact me on Discord at: @novarleeir

Roadmap:
Create Aeronautics + Elytra + Aether: Aeronautics will be an instant add into the modpack. Along with aeronautics, elytra rocket boosting will be disabled to encourage the use of flying machines (though obviously you can re-enable it). The Aether dimension will be added as it fits the whole flying and sky theme.
Create Diesel Generators: It's still up in the air on whether this mod will be kept with future version changes (1.20.2+) as it's possible that Aeronautics and Liftoff may add their own type of engine.
Nerbvival+ : For 1.21+, I will release a 'plus' version of the modpack that will include mods that will deviate from vanilla more.

Frequently Asked Questions
Nerbvival server crashes or won't start – what to do?
Most common causes: insufficient RAM or wrong forge loader. Check latest.log for "OutOfMemoryError" → increase RAM to at least 8 GB. For "Mixin" or "ClassNotFoundException" errors: modpack version and loader don't match. With Mado Hosting, loader and Minecraft version are auto-configured on modpack install – preventing most startup issues.
How much RAM does a Nerbvival server really need?
Minimum 6 GB, recommended 8 GB for stable performance. per 5 players. Important: Minecraft modpacks need more RAM than vanilla – plan extra per additional player. With Mado Hosting, you can scale RAM up live at any time without data loss (from €12/month).
Can I add custom mods to Nerbvival without conflicts?
Yes, but check compatibility: only use mods for the same loader (forge) and same Minecraft version (1.20.1). Common issues: ID conflicts with recipe mods and incompatible coremod versions. The Mado dashboard mod browser only shows compatible mods and warns about known conflicts.
Nerbvival server lagging – performance tips
1) Increase RAM to 8 GB+. 2) Reduce server view-distance to 8 (server.properties). 3) Pre-generate chunks with the "Chunky" plugin. 4) Use /spark profiler to check which mods consume the most tick time. With Mado Hosting, all servers run on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores – eliminating hardware as a bottleneck.
