About this Modpack

NOVA Exploration (Server Pack) (Fabric and Forge) v1.4 in active development
me and a friend have been working on this project that has been worked on for about 3 months

NOVA Exploration
If you love getting lost in massive worlds, stumbling into strange ruins, and chasing the next horizon, NOVA Exploration is built for you. The project focuses on meaningful exploration, intentional structure placement, dangerous dungeons, and stable performance across long play sessions.
There are two editions of the pack, each designed for a different style of player.
🌍 Core Vision
Exploration should feel alive. Travel should be rewarded. Structures should feel intentional. Performance should stay smooth even when the world gets big.
Both editions follow this philosophy, but they approach it differently.
🟢 Fabric Edition Overview
The Fabric edition is designed to be lighter, faster, and more accessible.
It focuses on exploration, structures, Create based infrastructure, and performance efficiency. World generation is smooth, memory usage is lower, and the pack is ideal for long exploration sessions, servers, and players who want stability without sacrificing content.
This edition is recommended for players who want:
Lower RAM usage
Faster load times
Smoother chunk generation
Long play sessions without performance drops
🔴 Forge Edition Overview
The Forge edition represents the heavier side of NOVA Exploration.
It includes deeper mod interactions, more complex systems, expanded mechanics, and a much denser feature set. This version is designed for players who want maximum content depth and do not mind higher system requirements.
The Forge edition focuses on:
Expanded systems and mechanics
Heavier combat and progression layers
More complex mod interactions
Large scale exploration and automation
Because of this, the Forge edition requires more memory and is still undergoing tuning and balance work.
🏗️ World & Structures
Both editions use a structure forward approach that prioritizes discovery without overwhelming the world.
Villages, ruins, towers, strongholds, and landmarks are spaced intentionally. Recent updates focused on fixing over generation, improving pacing, and ensuring exploration feels rewarding rather than cluttered.
🗝️ Dungeons & Adventure
Handcrafted ruins, layered dungeons, and high risk encounters reward preparation.
Players can choose how to engage with danger, whether by fighting directly, preparing carefully, or avoiding encounters entirely. Boss arenas and high value loot give exploration clear goals.
🌋 Nether & End
The Nether and End are no longer one time visits.
Both dimensions are expanded with improved biomes, structures, and progression flow. They are designed to feel like full chapters of the journey rather than side content.
⚙️ Create & Infrastructure
Exploration and engineering are designed to work together.
Players can build railways, lifts, bridges, and transport networks. Long distance travel becomes part of progression rather than a chore, supporting large bases and regional development.
⚡ Performance Philosophy
Performance is a priority in both editions, but the approach differs.
The Fabric edition prioritizes efficiency and lower system requirements.
The Forge edition prioritizes depth and scale, accepting higher resource usage.
Players can choose the experience that best fits their system and playstyle.

Frequently Asked Questions
NOVA Exploration (Server Pack) server crashes or won't start – what to do?
Most common causes: insufficient RAM or wrong fabric loader. Check latest.log for "OutOfMemoryError" → increase RAM to at least 6 GB. For "Mixin" or "ClassNotFoundException" errors: modpack version and loader don't match. With Mado Hosting, loader and Minecraft version are auto-configured on modpack install – preventing most startup issues.
How much RAM does a NOVA Exploration (Server Pack) server really need?
Minimum 4 GB, recommended 6 GB for stable performance. per 8 players. Important: Minecraft modpacks need more RAM than vanilla – plan extra per additional player. With Mado Hosting, you can scale RAM up live at any time without data loss (from €8/month).
Can I add custom mods to NOVA Exploration (Server Pack) without conflicts?
Yes, but check compatibility: only use mods for the same loader (fabric) and same Minecraft version (1.20.1). Common issues: ID conflicts with recipe mods and incompatible coremod versions. The Mado dashboard mod browser only shows compatible mods and warns about known conflicts.
NOVA Exploration (Server Pack) server lagging – performance tips
1) Increase RAM to 6 GB+. 2) Reduce server view-distance to 8 (server.properties). 3) Pre-generate chunks with the "Chunky" plugin. 4) Use /spark profiler to check which mods consume the most tick time. With Mado Hosting, all servers run on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores – eliminating hardware as a bottleneck.
