Optimalsation
The highest performing 1.21 modpack
About this Modpack
What Sets 'Optimax' / 'Optimalsation' Apart?
There's many modpacks that have optimization mods in them but they're either bloated with other additional content unrelated to performance or they only have a few mods.
This modpack is a all-in-one of every FPS mod as long as they're 1) compatible with each other and 2) it actually helps performance (some mods don't have the results they claim or another mod does something similar but better)
Shaders & RTX
The mod also includes performance-friendly shaders with further optimizations so if you wanted to use shaders during gameplay try them out!
Research & Testing
Months testing different combinations of incompatible FPS mods to see which ones gives the greatest performance went into this and I can confidently say that this exact combination is the smoothest way to play newer versions of Minecraft.
Categories / Type / Tiers / Versions
FPS Only
- Includes ONLY mods that boost performance
FPS + QoL
- Includes all the mods the 'FPS Only' version does (FPS boosting) but also adds some basic common quality of life mods most players add to their own modpacks that DON'T effect gameplay (e.g, Mouse Tweaks)
FPS + QoL + Tweaks
- Includes all the mods the 'FPS + QoL' version does (FPS boosting & QoL) but also adds some mods that may affect gameplay, however these mods don't add additional content to the game, they may change existing vanilla content/mechanics slightly to be more user friendly
Permissions
I've designed this modpack into these categories so people can either use these mods themselves to enjoy the game, or so they can use this modpack as a baseline to create their own modpack. I thereby grant other authors to upload their own modpacks using this as a baseline/foundation, I do ask for credit so other people can find the source however it's not required

Install Modpack in Dashboard
Open the modpack browser in the dashboard, search for "Optimalsation" and click "Install". The quilt loader and Minecraft 1.21.1 are configured automatically.

Frequently Asked Questions
Optimalsation server crashes or won't start – what to do?
Most common causes: insufficient RAM or wrong quilt loader. Check latest.log for "OutOfMemoryError" → increase RAM to at least 6 GB. For "Mixin" or "ClassNotFoundException" errors: modpack version and loader don't match. With Mado Hosting, loader and Minecraft version are auto-configured on modpack install – preventing most startup issues.
How much RAM does a Optimalsation server really need?
Minimum 4 GB, recommended 6 GB for stable performance. per 5 players. Important: Minecraft modpacks need more RAM than vanilla – plan extra per additional player. With Mado Hosting, you can scale RAM up live at any time without data loss (from €8/month).
Can I add custom mods to Optimalsation without conflicts?
Yes, but check compatibility: only use mods for the same loader (quilt) and same Minecraft version (1.21.1). Common issues: ID conflicts with recipe mods and incompatible coremod versions. The Mado dashboard mod browser only shows compatible mods and warns about known conflicts.
Optimalsation server lagging – performance tips
1) Increase RAM to 6 GB+. 2) Reduce server view-distance to 8 (server.properties). 3) Pre-generate chunks with the "Chunky" plugin. 4) Use /spark profiler to check which mods consume the most tick time. With Mado Hosting, all servers run on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores – eliminating hardware as a bottleneck.
