About this Modpack

What is Origins: The Realm?

A light-weight pack designed to be used on a Play.Hosting server. The pack will be changing based on community feedback from the server.

What is Play.Hosting, and how can I access the server?

A free to use server hosting site created and hosted by Tubbo.
The server can be accessed through the ip: (currently unavailable)

Currently OTR is undergoing some changes and is downgrading to 1.20.1 to allow for more mods to be included into the pack.

The pack is also becoming even more lightweight! Currently with less than 2gb ram required.

Additional Notes

Sodium is currenlty used to optimize the stability, but can be toggled off or swapped for an optimization of your choice.

Known bugs: In the 1.0 versions the grave mod does not save backpacks upon death.

How to Set Up a Origins: The Realm Server

Order Server

Choose at least 6 GB RAM (8 GB recommended for Origins: The Realm). Based on player count: per 5 players.

Install Modpack in Dashboard

Open the modpack browser in the dashboard, search for "Origins: The Realm" and click "Install". The fabric loader and Minecraft 1.20.2 are configured automatically.

Start Server & Play

Start the server – all mods are loaded automatically. Share the server IP with friends and play together!

Origins: The Realm server crashes or won't start – what to do?

Most common causes: insufficient RAM or wrong fabric loader. Check latest.log for "OutOfMemoryError" → increase RAM to at least 8 GB. For "Mixin" or "ClassNotFoundException" errors: modpack version and loader don't match. With Mado Hosting, loader and Minecraft version are auto-configured on modpack install – preventing most startup issues.

How much RAM does a Origins: The Realm server really need?

Can I add custom mods to Origins: The Realm without conflicts?
