About this Modpack

This modpack is designed to be vanilla+ and should be seen as an addon for the vanilla design/experience. This modpack can be used as a foundation for your personal modpack.

Over Earth showcases what Minecraft could have been, with new world generation and Distant Horizons. It is build around immersion using sound, animations and small details. It enhances the vanilla experience.

What do I do?

An in-game 'tutorial' is planned. Craft a bowl to drink water at the start of the game. There are ways to filter and store water.

Poor performance

You can enable/disable shaders by pressing K
If the game is lagging or crashes, go to options on the modpack page in Modrinth and up the memory to 6 Gb (6000 Mb) or more.
The game will stutter upon loading a world for the first time. This is the chunk generation that Distant Horizons does. The stuttering will go away

Customize basic things

You can toggle between normal, and enhanced first person using F6
You can enable/disable the resourcepack Unique Dark

How to Set Up a Over Earth Server

Order Server

Choose at least 6 GB RAM (8 GB recommended for Over Earth). Based on player count: per 5 players.

Install Modpack in Dashboard

Open the modpack browser in the dashboard, search for "Over Earth" and click "Install". The fabric loader and Minecraft 1.21.1 are configured automatically.

Start Server & Play

Start the server – all mods are loaded automatically. Share the server IP with friends and play together!

Over Earth server crashes or won't start – what to do?

Most common causes: insufficient RAM or wrong fabric loader. Check latest.log for "OutOfMemoryError" → increase RAM to at least 8 GB. For "Mixin" or "ClassNotFoundException" errors: modpack version and loader don't match. How much RAM does a Over Earth server really need?
