Project Snowcraft 1.21.1
Lightweight, optimization & QoL focused modpack
About this Modpack
NOW UPDATED TO 1.21.1! This modpack DOES NOT have the exact same mods as 1.20.1 and has had most of the quirky mods removed.
This Modpack is INTENDED to be USED WITH OPTIFINE :)
A lightweight, optimization focused modpack, with QoL & fun mods. This is targeted for both client & server usage.
This pack is currently developed by myself, with the interaction & feedback of my friends, on a private SMP server.
About this pack:
This pack contains our ideas of 'essential' mods, the main focus is QoL & high framerates, and attempting to be as lightweight as possible, for an average server, which was later upgraded to a slightly better server.
This SMP pack is still in early development and is currently stable.
This pack is developed in Singleplayer, but played and experienced entirely on a Multiplayer (SMP) server.
If anyone would like to give feedback please feel free to reach out to me on discord. Balancing is hard :p
Requirements:
- Minimum: Alright CPU & 4GB+ RAM (As much as can be allocated in Modrinth Settings)
- Recommended: Decent CPU & 8GB+ RAM (Max allocatable is optimal)
We always recommend you to use the latest version.
- I have also turned watchdog off (max-tick-time: -1) to prevent idle server crashes/the sever becoming unresponsive.

Frequently Asked Questions
Project Snowcraft 1.21.1 server crashes or won't start – what to do?
Most common causes: insufficient RAM or wrong fabric loader. Check latest.log for "OutOfMemoryError" → increase RAM to at least 6 GB. For "Mixin" or "ClassNotFoundException" errors: modpack version and loader don't match. With Mado Hosting, loader and Minecraft version are auto-configured on modpack install – preventing most startup issues.
How much RAM does a Project Snowcraft 1.21.1 server really need?
Minimum 4 GB, recommended 6 GB for stable performance. per 8 players. Important: Minecraft modpacks need more RAM than vanilla – plan extra per additional player. With Mado Hosting, you can scale RAM up live at any time without data loss (from €8/month).
Can I add custom mods to Project Snowcraft 1.21.1 without conflicts?
Yes, but check compatibility: only use mods for the same loader (fabric) and same Minecraft version (1.21.1). Common issues: ID conflicts with recipe mods and incompatible coremod versions. The Mado dashboard mod browser only shows compatible mods and warns about known conflicts.
Project Snowcraft 1.21.1 server lagging – performance tips
1) Increase RAM to 6 GB+. 2) Reduce server view-distance to 8 (server.properties). 3) Pre-generate chunks with the "Chunky" plugin. 4) Use /spark profiler to check which mods consume the most tick time. With Mado Hosting, all servers run on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores – eliminating hardware as a bottleneck.
