About this Modpack

As of version 1.2.0 Redmium also supports shaders, im too lazy to edit the whole description.

About Redmium

Redmium is an ultra lightweight modpack specifically crafted for low-end devices such as laptops, office computers and even phones using java launchers to massively increase FPS and lower RAM usage, it has excellent compatibility with other mods and old devices. It uses only the essential mods and focuses on pure performance.

It is recommended to use Java 25 with Redmium for optimal performace.

Performace

This version of Redmium is made just for increasing FPS, so it doesn't support shaders or has any additional mods.

Features

Redmium only adds Sodium Extra and Reese's Sodium Options, any other mod is for optimisation. Shader support is here since 1.2.0

Why use Redmium

Redmium has the lowest RAM usage and highest performance than any other optimisation modpack.

Redmium will always be compatible with almost all mods and also the oldest devices.

Redmium will work with only about 0.9GB of RAM, which is something no other modpack has done in the latest version of Minecraft.

Redmium will have frequent updates, and update to latest versions of Minecraft fast with beta versions of the modpack.

It has the highest performance compared to any modpack available on the internet, and no one will ever do it better than Redmium! (maybe)

Installation (Prism launcher)

  1. Download and install the Prism launcher app.
  2. Login with your account
  3. Click add instance
  4. Click on modrinth then search for Redmium
  5. Install the Redmium modpack (should be the first search result)

Versions

v[version]-[stage] version -> [major.minor.patch]

This kind of versioning is called Semantic versioning
I use it because it's the most widely used and easy to understand.

Convert the .mrpack to a .zip here (this isn't an advertisment for the website)

Frequently Asked Questions

Redmium server crashes or won't start – what to do?

Most common causes: insufficient RAM or wrong fabric loader. Check latest.log for "OutOfMemoryError" → increase RAM to at least 6 GB. For "Mixin" or "ClassNotFoundException" errors: modpack version and loader don't match. With Mado Hosting, loader and Minecraft version are auto-configured on modpack install – preventing most startup issues.

How much RAM does a Redmium server really need?

Minimum 4 GB, recommended 6 GB for stable performance. per 8 players. Important: Minecraft modpacks need more RAM than vanilla – plan extra per additional player. With Mado Hosting, you can scale RAM up live at any time without data loss (from €8/month).

Can I add custom mods to Redmium without conflicts?

Yes, but check compatibility: only use mods for the same loader (fabric) and same Minecraft version (26.1.2). Common issues: ID conflicts with recipe mods and incompatible coremod versions. The Mado dashboard mod browser only shows compatible mods and warns about known conflicts.

Redmium server lagging – performance tips

1) Increase RAM to 6 GB+. 2) Reduce server view-distance to 8 (server.properties). 3) Pre-generate chunks with the "Chunky" plugin. 4) Use /spark profiler to check which mods consume the most tick time. With Mado Hosting, all servers run on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores – eliminating hardware as a bottleneck.
