About this Modpack
🌸 Serenity : Build like never before
Serenity Means Peace
Have you ever been playing Minecraft but felt like the world feels uninviting? The night is too hostile to relax, caves are frightening, and creepers ruin your builds. Yet when you go to peaceful, you miss out on many opportunities where you need mobs for loot. The goal of serenity is to solve this, whilst doing much, much more.
Developing Peaceful Gameplay
In Serenity, mobs aren't removed. Yet they are neutral to the player. Don't attack them, and they won't attack you. Traverse the overworld without a concern for mobs. The surface is mob-free, and underground you're still safe!
But peacefulness isn't just about mobs. It's about environment. Serenity adds a number of environmental mods, with breathtaking landscapes to make every frame a painting. Fog fills the atmosphere. Peaceful critters decorate the surface. Rain is prettier and sounds better. Biomes are larger to not have such quick, distracting biome changes.
Peacefulness is also about improving Minecraft's more peaceful activities. Fishing has been overhauled to resemble Stardew Valley's fishing minigames. There are far more fish to catch. A number of mods have been added to bring more life to horses. Noteblocks have been expanded to include more instruments, and you can play literal instruments! Numerous new foods are available to cook and eat! And theres so much more!
Building your Serenity
Serenity's core gameplay is building. Villages have been completely removed to revamp the surface into a world of your own. Only old, ancient structures remain, ruins of those who came before you. It's your turn to build a story.
Assisted by dozens of new mods catered towards building and aesthetics, you can build anything in any style with plenty of choices. Build whatever you dream of. Your own serene builds are the key to peace in this modpack! Whether it's a simple house, or a towering mansion, build it all!
Serenity will have continued, long-term support, to continue expanding on the possibilities present in the pack, and polishing to create more peaceful gameplay. A relaxing experience, and a fun, polished one, is the most important goal of this pack! I'm actively commissioning and planning mods for all these goals to be achieved. Current plans are overhauls for fishing, enchanting, and villager trades.
What Serenity Isn't
Serenity is not a tech modpack, nor is it a Vanilla+ modpack. Tech is mostly present only from Create and its add-ons that in this pack serve as an aesthetic above all else. Automation is simply a medium to gain resources for building. It is not a Vanilla+ modpack as it overhauls many systems that becomes an experience that sets itself apart from Vanilla. If you are looking for either of these experiences, this modpack is not for you. This modpack does not have goals, you create those yourself!
Runs on 4GB of ram. 6GB is highly recommended.

Frequently Asked Questions
Serenity server crashes or won't start – what to do?
Most common causes: insufficient RAM or wrong fabric loader. Check latest.log for "OutOfMemoryError" → increase RAM to at least 6 GB. For "Mixin" or "ClassNotFoundException" errors: modpack version and loader don't match. With Mado Hosting, loader and Minecraft version are auto-configured on modpack install – preventing most startup issues.
How much RAM does a Serenity server really need?
Minimum 4 GB, recommended 6 GB for stable performance. per 8 players. Important: Minecraft modpacks need more RAM than vanilla – plan extra per additional player. With Mado Hosting, you can scale RAM up live at any time without data loss (from €8/month).
Can I add custom mods to Serenity without conflicts?
Yes, but check compatibility: only use mods for the same loader (fabric) and same Minecraft version (1.20.1). Common issues: ID conflicts with recipe mods and incompatible coremod versions. The Mado dashboard mod browser only shows compatible mods and warns about known conflicts.
Serenity server lagging – performance tips
1) Increase RAM to 6 GB+. 2) Reduce server view-distance to 8 (server.properties). 3) Pre-generate chunks with the "Chunky" plugin. 4) Use /spark profiler to check which mods consume the most tick time. With Mado Hosting, all servers run on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores – eliminating hardware as a bottleneck.
