About this Modpack

Industry without complexity

IMPORTANT !!

WHEN CREATING A NEW WORLD, YOU MUST RE-JOIN IT BEFORE STARTING! This starts the tick function which is vital to SI. It should say, "Welcome, (name)!"

The latest version, SimpleIndustry 9.0, does NOT include a quest book. This is planned, but for now: you are on your own.

PREMISE :)

SimpleIndustry is a 1.20.1 modpack with the goal of letting the player progress quickly while still challenging. Its main focus is Industry.
SimpleIndustry lets you get a feel for factory-like modpacks, without taking a million years and advanced chemistry to complete.

NO ORES.

In SimpleIndustry, you have to extract things like Iron from Cobblestone, whether through Campfires, Furnaces, or Blast Furnaces. For Iron specifically, its line is:

Cobblestone -> gravel -> raw iron -> iron ingot

DANGERS...

Be careful! All mobs have been buffed and every fourth mob is an Elite mob. (like infernal mobs from old minecraft) Don't worry- you'll eventually progress enough to stand your ground.

PROGRESSION!

Once you unlock Tiny Mob Farms, you can easily farm any mob drops. You might not always want to go through so many steps just for iron. There are more examples of progression, but you'll see that later.

GOALS?

Well... you should set your own goals, but:

  • Automate everything!
  • Get a ring of flight!
  • Compress to the max!
  • Overflow your piggy bank!
  • Quantum Armor!

What Durability? and Hunger Remover are included. You may disabled these if you want to.

MULTIPLAYER?

SimpleIndustry9 has not been tested in multiplayer yet. It should work, but you will have to:

  • Create a Fabric 1.20.1 server, copy the mods into (server)/mods/
  • Copy the SI Datapack from .minecraft/datapacks/ to (server)/world/datapacks/
  • Copy the config from ./minecraft/config to (server)/config/

It isn't recommended to do this, but it should be possible. I'll make document more about multiplayer later.

How to Set Up a SimpleIndustry Server

1

Order Server

Choose at least 6 GB RAM (8 GB recommended for SimpleIndustry). Based on player count: per 5 players.

2

Install Modpack in Dashboard

Open the modpack browser in the dashboard, search for "SimpleIndustry" and click "Install". The fabric loader and Minecraft 1.20.1 are configured automatically.

3

Start Server & Play

Start the server – all mods are loaded automatically. Share the server IP with friends and play together!

Frequently Asked Questions

SimpleIndustry server crashes or won't start – what to do?

Most common causes: insufficient RAM or wrong fabric loader. Check latest.log for "OutOfMemoryError" → increase RAM to at least 8 GB. For "Mixin" or "ClassNotFoundException" errors: modpack version and loader don't match. With Mado Hosting, loader and Minecraft version are auto-configured on modpack install – preventing most startup issues.

How much RAM does a SimpleIndustry server really need?

Minimum 6 GB, recommended 8 GB for stable performance. per 5 players. Important: Minecraft modpacks need more RAM than vanilla – plan extra per additional player. With Mado Hosting, you can scale RAM up live at any time without data loss (from €12/month).

Can I add custom mods to SimpleIndustry without conflicts?

Yes, but check compatibility: only use mods for the same loader (fabric) and same Minecraft version (1.20.1). Common issues: ID conflicts with recipe mods and incompatible coremod versions. The Mado dashboard mod browser only shows compatible mods and warns about known conflicts.

SimpleIndustry server lagging – performance tips

1) Increase RAM to 8 GB+. 2) Reduce server view-distance to 8 (server.properties). 3) Pre-generate chunks with the "Chunky" plugin. 4) Use /spark profiler to check which mods consume the most tick time. With Mado Hosting, all servers run on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores – eliminating hardware as a bottleneck.
