About this Modpack

Information
Simply Optimized Forked is a continuation of the now discontinued Simply Optimized!
Additionally on top of providing what the pack used to, it now will also provide LTS support for certain Minecraft versions (currently 1.20.1 and 1.21.1) and come with minor fixes for reoccuring issues found on the original pack
Philosophy
Simply Optimized provided access to bleeding edge Minecraft performance, without any bloat via tuned configs and plenty of testing. Our fork will abide by the same principles as the original modpack.
SO Forked will also be available as an open source Packwiz project on Codeberg.
What Simply Optimized Forked does
SO Forked improves upon Simply Optimized by fixing a few common user complaints, and providing additional support.
Our current differences include:
- CurseForge Support
- LTS Support for Minecraft 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, along with latest support. We may do mulit-loader in the future
- Some specific performance mods have been added, which were not in the original SO due to a variety of reasons (i.e. ParticleCore being excluded due to it having multiple dependencies)
- User Options will not be overriden each modpack update (same as Simply Optimized: Options Respected)

For "Mixin" or "ClassNotFoundException" errors: modpack version and loader don't match. With Mado Hosting, loader and Minecraft version are auto-configured on modpack install – preventing most startup issues.
How much RAM does a Simply Optimized Forked server really need?
Minimum 4 GB, recommended 6 GB for stable performance. per 8 players. Important: Minecraft modpacks need more RAM than vanilla – plan extra per additional player. With Mado Hosting, you can scale RAM up live at any time without data loss (from €8/month).
Can I add custom mods to Simply Optimized Forked without conflicts?
Yes, but check compatibility: only use mods for the same loader (fabric) and same Minecraft version (26.1.2). Common issues: ID conflicts with recipe mods and incompatible coremod versions. The Mado dashboard mod browser only shows compatible mods and warns about known conflicts.
Simply Optimized Forked server lagging – performance tips
1) Increase RAM to 6 GB+. 2) Reduce server view-distance to 8 (server.properties). 3) Pre-generate chunks with the "Chunky" plugin. 4) Use /spark profiler to check which mods consume the most tick time. With Mado Hosting, all servers run on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores – eliminating hardware as a bottleneck.
