if you dont have enough money to afford a server, or realm, or aternos was just being mean, this is the modpack for you. dont spend a dime on a mc server, just spend $20 for mc then download this modpack so you can play with your friends, even when you and yout friends live in different countries. but make sure you have a good enough internet to be able to host it. but of course thats not all, if your computer isnt good enough to play above 30fps then sodium would be perfect for you. but if your pc is good enough to play above 30fps, if it can play good enough even with shaders then iris will allow you to use those shaders, and if your to lazy to get those shaderpacks then one with a equal balance of performance and quality, complemetry shaders reimagined is built in. this pack also has a collection of performance mods such as clumps, bobby, dynamic fps, entity culling, lithium, and servercore for the people that acutally use this modpack for its intended use. and even that isnt all. if you dont want to talk through discord and through the game itself, then we also have simple voice chat, and for those build desingers out there you can also sit down on either slabs, stairs, or any other blocks i cant remember. and for those naturalists and people that are outside of their base for a while, ambient sounds add even more sounds out in nature and in caves. and if you want to use discord with your friends for this pack and want to make your presence known on discord then craft presence will alert your friends and you can customize it to your will. and this thing is still going for some reason. if you like optifine's dynamic lighting but cant use them because sodium isnt optifine, you can use dynamic lighting with lambdynamiclights.
