About this Modpack

Strixun: Trials of the Wild – A Curated Long‑Form Progression Modpack

ℹ️ A hardcore survival and exploration modpack with ~250 carefully curated mods, featuring my own creations — Rituals, a mystical totem‑magic system, and Compressy, a near‑infinite storage solution — woven naturally into long‑form progression, dangerous worldgen, and a world that pushes back.

Overview

~

Pack A is a progression‑focused kitchen‑sink modpack with ~250 curated mods, built for immersive adventuring, long‑form progression, and high replayability. It blends exploration, multiple skill systems (including SimpleSkills), and deeply tuned world generation with a tiered resource path that starts at wood and climbs through stone, copper, iron, and beyond. Every milestone feels earned, and every biome has a story to tell. ^_^

Alongside the community’s best mods, this pack includes two custom mods I built specifically to enhance this experience:

Rituals Rituals — Totem Magic for Survival, Buffs & Automation

A mystical, lore‑friendly system that adds magical totems, area buffs, automated defenses, farming tools, and multi‑totem pattern rituals.
It’s powerful, but intentionally balanced — a toolset that rewards planning without trivializing survival.

Compressy Compressy — Extreme Storage Without Tech Progression

Compress any block up to 32 tiers using standard crafting recipes.
Perfect for long mining trips, megabuilds, and keeping inventories clean without introducing late‑game tech shortcuts.

Both mods are designed to support the pack’s progression, not dominate it — they feel like natural extensions of the world.

The intended playstyle is hardcore‑leaning: disabling raids and natural health regeneration is recommended for the full experience (campfires are your friend), Ironman mode is enabled in SimpleSkills, and the world is designed to push back. Server usage compatible, see changelog notes for mods to exclude from server (client-only stuff). ;)

🌦️ Seasons, Survival & Environmental Hazards

Compressy, my own storage mod, lets you compress any block up to ridiculous levels using standard crafting recipes — perfect for long mining sessions and megabuilds without introducing late‑game tech shortcuts.

Automation options include:

Rituals
Create Fly
Tool Trims
Enchantments Encore
Enchants & Expeditions

Rituals, my totem‑based datapack/mod, adds magical totems that can handle things like area buffs, base defense, growth, and multi‑totem patterns for more advanced setups — useful tools that still respect the survival challenge.

🐾 Wildlife, Pets & Companions

A massive roster of creatures from:

Cosy Critters
Better Pets
IndyPets
More Mobs
Sea Life

If it moves, it probably has a custom animation. :3

⚔️ Combat, Skills & Survival Systems

🧰 Quality of Life (But Not Too Much)

QoL that helps — without trivializing the journey. :)

Frequently Asked Questions

Strixun: Trials of the Wild server crashes or won't start – what to do?

Most common causes: insufficient RAM or wrong fabric loader. Check latest.log for "OutOfMemoryError" → increase RAM to at least 8 GB. For "Mixin" or "ClassNotFoundException" errors: modpack version and loader don't match. With Mado Hosting, loader and Minecraft version are auto-configured on modpack install – preventing most startup issues.

How much RAM does a Strixun: Trials of the Wild server really need?

Minimum 6 GB, recommended 8 GB for stable performance. per 5 players. Important: Minecraft modpacks need more RAM than vanilla – plan extra per additional player. With Mado Hosting, you can scale RAM up live at any time without data loss (from €12/month).

Can I add custom mods to Strixun: Trials of the Wild without conflicts?

Yes, but check compatibility: only use mods for the same loader (fabric) and same Minecraft version (1.21.11). Common issues: ID conflicts with recipe mods and incompatible coremod versions. The Mado dashboard mod browser only shows compatible mods and warns about known conflicts.

Strixun: Trials of the Wild server lagging – performance tips

1) Increase RAM to 8 GB+. 2) Reduce server view-distance to 8 (server.properties). 3) Pre-generate chunks with the "Chunky" plugin. 4) Use /spark profiler to check which mods consume the most tick time. With Mado Hosting, all servers run on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores – eliminating hardware as a bottleneck.
