About this Modpack
Custom Modpack for the Tcheam discord.
Features optimization, quality of life, and some game changing mods for an entry in the modded space.
Performance
Heavily based on the famous Fabulously Optimized modpack, Tcheam focuses on performance first. Using many well-established mods, you can expect much better performance than vanilla Minecraft.
Tweaks
Through powerful quality of life mods, such as Mousetweaks and AppleSkin, Minecraft keeps its identity while gaining capabilities vanilla players can only wish for. Enjoy Distant Horizons for mind-boggling render distance at little additional cost!
Other mods like Create and Chipped are included to add decoration but also functionnality. Staying close to vanilla is a chosen objective of this modpack, so create is not necessary for advancing and its balancing is made to fit vanilla playthroughs.
Future-proof
Running on 1.20.1 and fabric, Tcheam is a modern modpack that is based on modern frameworks and recent minecraft versions.
Older versions were developped for 1.21.8 and 1.21.1. These are not up to date and will not be updated. These versions are still listed for completeness but are not recommended.
Additional considerations
To run this modpack, it is recommended to allocate at least 8GB of RAM, this is lessened if you choose to disable Distant Horizons. Edit: Jesus, I don't know if 8 is enough, try 16 at least.
For your own Server
For some reason, as of 0.3.0, BetterStats has a tendency to invalidate player data. The mod can remain client side, but should be removed on the server. Dynmap is disabled by default. To make the modpack easy to install, it is the server owner's responsibility to enable it.

Frequently Asked Questions
Tcheam server crashes or won't start – what to do?
Most common causes: insufficient RAM or wrong fabric loader. Check latest.log for "OutOfMemoryError" → increase RAM to at least 6 GB. For "Mixin" or "ClassNotFoundException" errors: modpack version and loader don't match. With Mado Hosting, loader and Minecraft version are auto-configured on modpack install – preventing most startup issues.
How much RAM does a Tcheam server really need?
Minimum 4 GB, recommended 6 GB for stable performance. per 8 players. Important: Minecraft modpacks need more RAM than vanilla – plan extra per additional player. With Mado Hosting, you can scale RAM up live at any time without data loss (from €8/month).
Can I add custom mods to Tcheam without conflicts?
Yes, but check compatibility: only use mods for the same loader (fabric) and same Minecraft version (1.21.8). Common issues: ID conflicts with recipe mods and incompatible coremod versions. The Mado dashboard mod browser only shows compatible mods and warns about known conflicts.
Tcheam server lagging – performance tips
1) Increase RAM to 6 GB+. 2) Reduce server view-distance to 8 (server.properties). 3) Pre-generate chunks with the "Chunky" plugin. 4) Use /spark profiler to check which mods consume the most tick time. With Mado Hosting, all servers run on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores – eliminating hardware as a bottleneck.
