About this Modpack

Welcome!

Hi, welcome to thesomewhatyou's Old Computer Revival Project. (TOSCR)

This is a modpack for computers that have a crappy iGPU.

⚠️ Warning! ⚠️

This project is not quite perfected. Consistency is key, but this key, mind you, is not here.

TOSCR is a very iffy modpack, as monthly updates MAY be provided, but they may not be optimal. This mod is not going under the bus anytime soon. This is just a start. I can promise a few things, like:

  • No bugs that affect gameplay
  • A slow, yet steady release
  • And most importantly, around 100+ FPS for old PCs using this.
  • If you use this on a newer computer, you'll experience even HIGHER FPS

thesomewhatyou, why'd ya do this?

I used a crusty old iMac. I know some people that still use it to this day. Minecraft runs horribly on old PCs, especially with limiting Java capabilities, with major stuttering and a deadly amount of lag (a lot worse than this modpack could be). That's why I made TOSCR. It can solve most lag and eliminate stutter almost entirely.

Statement

This project will be entirely free, forever. You heard me right! Ko-Fi is available however. Modrinth will also be paying me...
...eight cents.

Anyways...

If you ever do download this, thanks. I'm working pretty hard on this, and I'm investigating things I do not know about. I want the Minecraft community to be happy. Downloading this, or even just reading this brings me joy. Bye! ❤️

Can I add custom mods to thesomewhatyou's Old School Computer Revival project without conflicts?

Yes, but check compatibility: only use mods for the same loader (fabric) and same Minecraft version (1.21.4). Common issues: ID conflicts with recipe mods and incompatible coremod versions. The Mado dashboard mod browser only shows compatible mods and warns about known conflicts.
