Unforgiving Skies
A heavy, atmosphere-driven weather survival modpack featuring dynamic seasons, severe localized storms, and harsh environmental temperature cycles.
About this Modpack
Unforgiving Skies overhauls the predictable weather patterns of vanilla Minecraft, turning the climate and atmosphere into an active element of your survival.
What This Pack Adds
Dynamic Weather Systems: Rain is replaced by moving pressure fronts. Light drizzles can naturally develop into heavy downpours, thick fog, or blinding blizzards depending on your current biome and elevation.
Full Seasonal Cycles: The world constantly shifts through four distinct seasons. These cycles alter local temperatures, affect how fast your crops grow, and change animal behavior.
Severe Storms and Tornadoes: High-pressure systems can trigger violent windstorms and localized tornadoes that are capable of ripping up unreinforced blocks, knocking down trees, and causing flash floods.
Critical Information Before Downloading
Shelter Mechanics: Standard wooden or open-air shelters will not survive this pack. Lightning routinely sparks massive wildfires, and wind storms will damage weak blocks. Upgrading to stone, reinforced materials, or building underground is highly recommended.
Navigation Hazards: Severe weather events drastically reduce your render distance to near-zero visibility. Always carry a compass, maps, or directional markers when exploring, as it is incredibly easy to get permanently lost during a sudden blizzard or thick fog roll.

Most common causes: insufficient RAM or wrong neoforge loader. Check latest.log for "OutOfMemoryError" → increase RAM to at least 8 GB. For "Mixin" or "ClassNotFoundException" errors: modpack version and loader don't match. With Mado Hosting, loader and Minecraft version are auto-configured on modpack install – preventing most startup issues.
How much RAM does a Unforgiving Skies server really need?
Minimum 6 GB, recommended 8 GB for stable performance. per 5 players. Important: Minecraft modpacks need more RAM than vanilla – plan extra per additional player. With Mado Hosting, you can scale RAM up live at any time without data loss (from €12/month).
Can I add custom mods to Unforgiving Skies without conflicts?
Yes, but check compatibility: only use mods for the same loader (neoforge) and same Minecraft version (1.21.1). Common issues: ID conflicts with recipe mods and incompatible coremod versions. The Mado dashboard mod browser only shows compatible mods and warns about known conflicts.
