About this Modpack
This project has been put on hiatus indefinitely
VIGIL VENTURES
A QoL, performance, and visual overhaul of Minecraft designed for use in The Vigil's servers.
Created By Nevarro, all rights reserved to the creators of the mods who I humbly thank for giving us what we ourselves crave but can not create.

Minecraft has always been a great tool to shape not only a place of your own but memories that you may long forget, if not for how deeply they become ingrained in your builds and worlds. That is the core principle that I hope Vigil Ventures will reinforce by providing a lightweight way to return to your worlds - fresh and reinvigorated, without stressing machines nor worrying about save compatibility. So get in there and create some memories worth cementing in your blocks.
Features:
Lightweight visual changes that don't stray too far from the vanilla look of Minecraft, including mods such as:
- 3D Skin Layers
- Blur+
- Cave Dust
As well as resourcepacks/datapacks that add a little bit more life to your game with new animations and new sounds that fill the ambience.
Resource packs were also chosen to give a small tweak to the world including:
- Simple Grass Flowers
- Better Leaves
- Gui Perfected
All of which can be disabled to the preference of the user.
QoL mods are featured such as Journeymap, Vanilla Refresh, Mouse Tweaks and all the essential must-haves for another playthrough.
The FancyMenu addition changes the main menu style to that which represent the creator and his friends, this can be turned off by pressing CTRL+ALT+C and clicking on Current Screen Customisation: Enabled, or simply removing the FancyMenu mod once the pack is installed.
There are NO mods that add new blocks/item etc. and as such it's should be compatible with all servers and singleplayer saves.
Disclaimer: This pack was made for release version 1.21 of Minecraft and may or may not cause problems/crashes on other versions.
Contents of the pack are liable to change as The Vigil's official server gets updated, as with most modpacks some mods will be left behind depending on the need, compatibility, or simply lack of updates.
System Requirements
- GPU: Integrated Graphics
- CPU: Potato
- RAM: 6GB
- Additional: It should work fine on most modern machines.

Frequently Asked Questions
(Discontinued) Vigil Ventures server crashes or won't start – what to do?
Most common causes: insufficient RAM or wrong fabric loader. Check latest.log for "OutOfMemoryError" → increase RAM to at least 6 GB. For "Mixin" or "ClassNotFoundException" errors: modpack version and loader don't match. With Mado Hosting, loader and Minecraft version are auto-configured on modpack install – preventing most startup issues.
How much RAM does a (Discontinued) Vigil Ventures server really need?
Minimum 4 GB, recommended 6 GB for stable performance. per 8 players. Important: Minecraft modpacks need more RAM than vanilla – plan extra per additional player. With Mado Hosting, you can scale RAM up live at any time without data loss (from €8/month).
Can I add custom mods to (Discontinued) Vigil Ventures without conflicts?
Yes, but check compatibility: only use mods for the same loader (fabric) and same Minecraft version (1.21.7). Common issues: ID conflicts with recipe mods and incompatible coremod versions. The Mado dashboard mod browser only shows compatible mods and warns about known conflicts.
(Discontinued) Vigil Ventures server lagging – performance tips
1) Increase RAM to 6 GB+. 2) Reduce server view-distance to 8 (server.properties). 3) Pre-generate chunks with the "Chunky" plugin. 4) Use /spark profiler to check which mods consume the most tick time. With Mado Hosting, all servers run on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores – eliminating hardware as a bottleneck.
