About this Modpack

Vulkanoid is a high-performance, Vulkan-based modpack engineered to squeeze every single frame out of your hardware.

Why choose Vulkanoid?

Vulkan Engine (OpenGL Replacement)

Standard modpacks rely on the outdated OpenGL API. Vulkanoid shifts the rendering to the Vulkan API. This stops your CPU from being bottlenecked by old drivers, providing a massive FPS boost

Ultra-Lightweight

"Less is more." I've kept only the essential optimization mods. No useless bloatware eating up your RAM for nothing. It’s the leanest pack you can run for maximum speed.

Zero Light-Update Lag

Tired of stutters when placing torches or breaking blocks? I've optimized the lighting engine and integrated Fullbright logic so that light updates never cause a frame drop again.

Faster Chunk Generation

World loading is significantly snappier. I've tuned how chunks are generated and sent to the client, reducing those "void holes" when exploring the map at high speeds.

What I got on my pc using this modpack

Pc specs: Intel Pentium Silver N5030/Intel UHD Graphics 605/8GB Ram/256GB SSD/OS:Atlas OS

Overworld exploration: 150 - 120 FPS

Dense Areas / Large Bases: 60 - 100 FPS

Void: 700+ FPS

How can you improve performance even more?

  1. Use optimized JVM arguments: Don't just use the default ones. Good JVM flags help the "Garbage Collector" clean up memory more efficiently, which stops those annoying random stutters (lag spikes) while you play.

  2. Allocate the right amount of RAM: If you have 8GB total, try allocating 3GB or 4GB to Minecraft. Never allocate all your RAM, or your operating system will struggle, causing the game to lag.

  3. Update your Graphics Drivers: Since Vulkanoid relies on the Vulkan API, having the latest drivers from Intel, AMD, or Nvidia is mandatory. Old drivers often have "broken" Vulkan support.

Does this supports shaders?

Kinda. Since this modpack uses VulkanMod, standard shaders are not available. , BUT there is a mod named Beryl that adds an efficient shader pipeline for Vulkan.

How to Set Up a Vulkanoid Server

1

Order Server

Choose at least 4 GB RAM (6 GB recommended for Vulkanoid). Based on player count: per 8 players.

2

Install Modpack in Dashboard

Open the modpack browser in the dashboard, search for "Vulkanoid" and click "Install". The fabric loader and Minecraft 1.21.11 are configured automatically.

3

Start Server & Play

Start the server – all mods are loaded automatically. Share the server IP with friends and play together!

Frequently Asked Questions

Vulkanoid server crashes or won't start – what to do?

Most common causes: insufficient RAM or wrong fabric loader. Check latest.log for "OutOfMemoryError" → increase RAM to at least 6 GB. For "Mixin" or "ClassNotFoundException" errors: modpack version and loader don't match. With Mado Hosting, loader and Minecraft version are auto-configured on modpack install – preventing most startup issues.

How much RAM does a Vulkanoid server really need?

Minimum 4 GB, recommended 6 GB for stable performance. per 8 players. Important: Minecraft modpacks need more RAM than vanilla – plan extra per additional player. With Mado Hosting, you can scale RAM up live at any time without data loss (from €8/month).

Can I add custom mods to Vulkanoid without conflicts?

Yes, but check compatibility: only use mods for the same loader (fabric) and same Minecraft version (1.21.11). Common issues: ID conflicts with recipe mods and incompatible coremod versions. The Mado dashboard mod browser only shows compatible mods and warns about known conflicts.

Vulkanoid server lagging – performance tips

1) Increase RAM to 6 GB+. 2) Reduce server view-distance to 8 (server.properties). 3) Pre-generate chunks with the "Chunky" plugin. 4) Use /spark profiler to check which mods consume the most tick time. With Mado Hosting, all servers run on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores – eliminating hardware as a bottleneck.
