Weekend SMP
The Weekend SMP is a Forge 1.20.1 modpack combining epic world generation, dungeons, survival depth, Create automation, and QoL features for immersive exploration, combat, and multiplayer chaos.
About this Modpack
The Weekend SMP is a Forge 1.20.1 modpack designed for immersive exploration, survival, and multiplayer chaos (though, technically for my friends and I). Built around rich world generation, it combines terrain mods like Terralith, Tectonic, Regions Unexplored, Lithosphere, and Biomes O’ Plenty with structure overhauls such as YUNG’s suite, Towns and Towers, ChoiceTheorem’s Overhauled Villages, Dungeons & Taverns, and Moog’s End Structures. This ensures every corner of the world—Overworld, Nether, or End—feels alive and worth exploring.
Survival depth comes from Farmer’s Delight, Artifacts, Immersive Armors, and Spartan Weaponry/Shields, offering varied combat and RPG-like progression. Utility mods like Traveler’s Backpack, Waystones, and Lootr enhance quality of life while preserving balance. Exploration is further enriched by mounts, gliders, and Icarus wings for unique travel styles.
On the tech side, Create, alongside Steam ’n Rails and Slice & Dice, fuels automation and player-driven engineering projects, perfect for multiplayer builds like monorails or factories. Visual polish is supported by Embeddium, Dynamic Lights, and cosmetic mods like Not Enough Animations and Chat Heads.
Altogether, Weekend SMP delivers a feature-rich yet balanced experience—ideal for friends who want sprawling adventures, chaotic multiplayer fun, and limitless creativity within a beautifully generated world.

Frequently Asked Questions
Weekend SMP server crashes or won't start – what to do?
Most common causes: insufficient RAM or wrong forge loader. Check latest.log for "OutOfMemoryError" → increase RAM to at least 8 GB. For "Mixin" or "ClassNotFoundException" errors: modpack version and loader don't match. With Mado Hosting, loader and Minecraft version are auto-configured on modpack install – preventing most startup issues.
How much RAM does a Weekend SMP server really need?
Minimum 6 GB, recommended 8 GB for stable performance. per 5 players. Important: Minecraft modpacks need more RAM than vanilla – plan extra per additional player. With Mado Hosting, you can scale RAM up live at any time without data loss (from €12/month).
Can I add custom mods to Weekend SMP without conflicts?
Yes, but check compatibility: only use mods for the same loader (forge) and same Minecraft version (1.20.1). Common issues: ID conflicts with recipe mods and incompatible coremod versions. The Mado dashboard mod browser only shows compatible mods and warns about known conflicts.
Weekend SMP server lagging – performance tips
1) Increase RAM to 8 GB+. 2) Reduce server view-distance to 8 (server.properties). 3) Pre-generate chunks with the "Chunky" plugin. 4) Use /spark profiler to check which mods consume the most tick time. With Mado Hosting, all servers run on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores – eliminating hardware as a bottleneck.
