About this Mod
(Fake) Hardcore
(Fake) Hardcore is a server-sided Fabric mod that re-imagines Minecraft's hardcore mode by allowing operators to revive players instead of permanently banning them.
When a player "dies", they don't actually respawn or get kicked. Instead, they are switched into spectator mode, keeping the hardcore feel but giving admins the power to bring them back.
This mod is perfect for multiplayer survival servers that want the tension of hardcore without the frustration of losing progress forever.
Features
⚰️ True Hardcore Feel
Players die as usual, drop items and experience, but can no longer interact with the world.
The mod fully uses Minecraft’s built-in Hardcore mode (hardcore=true), meaning the world is locked to Hard difficulty and players cannot respawn normally, keeping the authentic hardcore experience intact.
👁️ Spectator Lock
Upon death, players are automatically switched to spectator mode, unable to move.
🧠 Admin Revival System
Server operators can "/revive" fallen players, restoring their gameplay without restarting the world. (Combine this with a hard challenge or even a donation so players will think twice about dying next time)
🔊 Thunder Death Effect
A global thunder sound is played upon death to alert everyone.
💬 Broadcast Death Message
Other players see the cause of death (for example: "Player was blown up by a Creeper").
⚙️ Fully Server-Sided
No client installation required. Players only need to join the server to use the mod.
Compatibility
- ✅ Works with Minecraft 1.21.9 and 1.21.10
- ✅ Requires Fabric API
- ✅ Server-side only (clients do not need to install it)
