A Basic Soundboard
A soundboard mod for Minecraft 26.1.x
About this Mod
A client-side soundboard mod for Minecraft 26.1 that plays .mp3 and .wav files through Simple Voice Chat. Nearby players who have Simple Voice Chat
installed will hear the sounds as if they are coming from your microphone.
What it does:
- Loads .mp3 and .wav audio files from a soundboard folder in your Minecraft directory
- Adds an in-game GUI (press U) with a list of all loaded sounds
- Clicking a sound plays it locally through your speakers and broadcasts it through Simple Voice Chat
- Includes volume control, search/filter, and a reload button
Why download it:
- Play custom sounds, music, or effects for friends in proximity voice chat
- No server-side mod or plugin needed — works on any server where players have Simple Voice Chat installed
- Supports both MP3 and WAV formats out of the box
Before downloading:
- Requires Simple Voice Chat to be installed on your client. Other players must also have Simple Voice Chat installed to hear your sounds.
- Requires Fabric API.
- Place .mp3 or .wav files in .minecraft/soundboard/ (the folder is created automatically on first launch).
- If you use a custom launcher (Prism, Modrinth App, PCL, etc.), the soundboard folder is located inside your profile directory.
How to use:
1. Install this mod, Fabric API, and Simple Voice Chat on your client
2. Place .mp3 or .wav files in your soundboard folder
3. Launch Minecraft and join a world
4. Press U to open the soundboard GUI
5. Click any sound to play it — it broadcasts through voice chat and plays locally
6. Use the - and + buttons to adjust volume
7. Use the search bar to filter sounds, or click Reload to scan for new files
