About this Mod

Do you heavily dislike needing to retrieve your items and EXP after every death, but you feel that using keep inventory is cheaty?

Alternative Punishments is a mod that adds a different punishment for death- losing your max health. This may sound bad, however, it really isn't. Each death, you lose 1 heart, up to a maximum of 5. If you eat a Golden Apple, you regain a heart. If you eat an Enchanted Golden Apple, all of your health will be restored.

This mod currently forces your world to have keep inventory on. I plan to make this a config.

How to Install Alternative Punishments on Your Server

Order Server

Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).

Set fabric Loader

In the panel under "Egg", select the fabric loader and matching Minecraft version (1.20.4).

Install Mod

Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Alternative Punishments". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

Alternative Punishments server crashes on startup – what to do?
