Amethyst Shield is a mod that adds the amethyst shield concept from youtuber; Blockixel Artistry, to minecraft!

Description

This upgraded shield is a late-game item meant for mobility and combat purposes, it has a plethora of different abilities that complement your skills in pvp and pve. The shield's abilities are charged up by moving around, or by blocking hits.

What about the rest of Blockixels concepts?

If you are a Blockixel enjoyer, just like us, you may be asking your self: "What about the rest?". Well you'll be happy to hear the we are planing on making all of his concepts, with the exception of a few. (more on that in the linked discord) And especially if you are a modder, with too much time, we ask you to join the discord and read through the "I want to help development" channel to see if you could join the team. But we are also happy to see you join for any other reason, even if it's just asking how it's going.

Recipe and new items

The recipe of the shield goes as follows:

• 3 amethyst shards
• 1 shield
• 2 copper ingots
• 2 oxiwine bolts
• 1 sculk latch

The oxiwine bolts and sculk latch are both new items. Here's how to get them:

Oxiwine Bolt

Oxiwine bolts can be brushed up in trail ruins. They are part of the rare loot table. It can also spawn in chest in trial chambers and as a loot out of a trial loot box.

Sculk Latch

The sculk latch can be found in ancient city chests. They're more rare than notch apples, so good luck finding one!

Abilities and controls

Which different abilities does the shield have, and how do you use them?

Amethyst Vibration Burst

The amethyst vibration burst is an ability that pushes away nearby entities, and deals damage to them. The burst takes 50% of your charge.
To use this burst, hold right click while holding the amethyst shield, and crouch twice.

Amethyst Double Jump

The amethyst double jump is an ability that makes the player do a second jump while being in mid air. The ability is great for mobility, and also uses 50% charge. This means the player can double jump twice in a row.
To use the double jump, hold right click while holding the amethyst shield, and press the jump key while in the air.

Sparkling Amethyst Sword

The sparkling amethyst sword is an ability that combines the amethyst double jump with a powerful sword attack. When doing this ability, the player first double jumps, and then dashes forward quickly. This ability is great for gaining vertical and horizontal distance, and can also deal damage to entities.
To use the amethyst sword, hold right click while holding the amethyst shield, and press the jump key while in the air to perform a double jump. Then, right after doing the double jump, quickly swing your sword to dash in the direction you're facing.

Sliding Amethyst

The sliding amethyst is an ability with a heavy focus on mobility. It makes the player quickly dash forward, to the sides, or backwards, depending on which movement key the player is holding.
To use the sliding amethyst, tap right click twice in quick succession while holding the amethyst shield. To change directions; hold a movement key.

Amethyst Dispenser

The amethyst dispenser is a new block which can be obtained by placing an amethyst cluster on top a dispenser. The amethyst dispenser shoots further, stronger and it has 100% accuracy. The only downside being the cooldwn on it shooting is a lot longer.

Amethyst Monocle

The amethyst monocle is an item that can be dug up by using a brush on suspicious blocks. It can be equiped in the head slot like a helmet. While wearing the monocle, the location of any nearby ore will be revealed to the player by means of a particle on the side of a block. When you dig in the direction of the particle, you'll find the ore. The detection itself happens passively.
