About this Mod

Aquifer

This is a simple Minecraft server-side Fabric mod that makes small modifications to the way farmland blocks can be hydrated, and grass, dirt, or sand blocks can be hydrated to allow sugarcane to be placed on them.

Farmlands

Farmland blocks can now be hydrated by water blocks below them, in a 2 block radius one block below and around the farmland block.

Sugarcane

Grass, dirt, or sand blocks that have a block of water or frosted ice directly below them can now have sugarcane placed on them.

Compatibility

This mod supports Farmer's Delight's Rich Soil Farmland blocks to add to them the expanded water block checks.

Frequently Asked Questions

Aquifer server crashes on startup – what to do?

Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Is Aquifer compatible with fabric?

Aquifer officially supports fabric for Minecraft 1.21, 1.20.4, 1.20.3. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.

Server lagging with Aquifer – how to optimize performance?

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Aquifer consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
