Armor Equip Delay
Delay when changing armor
About this Mod
⚔️ Armor Equip Delay
Tired of players abusing stamina and movement penalty systems by constantly swapping armor mid-combat?
This mod adds a realistic penalty every time a player equips or unequips any piece of armor — making gear changes a deliberate choice, not a spam mechanic.
🛡️ What does this mod do?
Whenever a player equips or unequips any armor piece, they receive:
🐢 Slowness III — movement is significantly reduced
💔 Weakness II — attack damage is reduced
An action bar message also appears to let the player know what's happening.
This applies to all armor slots: helmet, chestplate, leggings, and boots.
**I made this mod in a few days, for my modpack.
You can still port/modify it as you see fit under the license.**
🎮 Why use this mod?
In modpacks with stamina systems (such as Feathers, Peak Stamina, or similar), players can abuse armor mechanics by rapidly swapping between heavy and light armor to dodge movement penalties.
This mod closes that exploit by making every armor change feel weighty and consequential — just like putting on a full set of metal armor should be.
