About this Mod

Armor New Attributes

Armor New Attributes is a mod that completely replaces the standard armor stats with 7 new attributes that depend on your armor or config settings.

What it adds:

  • Absorption - Reduces damage taken by you depending on the armor absorption percentage, but at the cost of increasing armor durability consumption.
  • Arrow Reflection - Gives a chance for arrows flying at you to bounce off. The higher the percentage, the greater the chance the arrow will bounce.
  • Knockback Resistance - Reduces knockback distance when hit.
  • Projectile Protection - Reduces incoming projectile damage based on the percentage of this attribute
  • Fire Resistance - Decreases or increases incoming fire damage depending on the percentage of this attribute
  • Blast Resistance - Reduces incoming damage from explosions based on the percentage of this attribute
  • Fall Damage - Decreases or increases incoming fall damage depending on the percentage of this attribute

New Enchantments:

This mod adds three new enchantments to increase your attribute percentage:

  • Absorption (Levels I-III) - Each level grants +5% absorption.
  • Ricochet (Levels I-III) - Each level provides a +4% arrow reflection chance.
  • Knockback Resistance (Levels I-III) - Each level increases your Knockback Resistance by +5%.
  • As well as enchantments such as: "Projectile Proof", "Flame Endurance", "Blast Immunity" and "Lightness", which provide a bonus of 5% per 1 level for their attribute.

This mod also adds 2 new unique enchantments:

  • Shatter - This enchantment allows you to wear down an enemy's weapon much faster. When your armor is enchanted with Shatter, enemies who hit you lose their weapon durability 1.2x / 1.3x / 1.5x faster depending on the enchantment level.
  • Disorientation - Gives a chance to weaken your attacker. Being hit grants a 3% / 6% / 9% chance to inflict the enemy with Weakness I for 3 seconds (at levels I-II) or Weakness II for 2 seconds (at level III).
  • Sacrifice - It allows you to avoid 100% damage from explosions, but all damage is converted into armor durability. This enchantment can only be applied to the chest piece.
  • Threshold - For every 50 armor durability lost, you will receive a bonus of 1% absorption. This bonus does not consume armor durability and is mutually exclusive with the "Sacrifice" enchantment. This enchantment applies only to the chest piece.

Unique Mechanic:

  • Dynamic Set Combinations - This unique calculation allows you to mix and match different armor pieces, creating custom builds and receiving varied tactical bonuses depending on your current gear setup.

  • Smart Stat Averaging - Bonuses are averaged only across worn armor pieces, not always divided by 4. Wearing 2 Netherite pieces gives 85% / 2 = 42.5% Absorption (not 85% / 4 = 21.25%). No penalty for incomplete sets.

  • Full Config Customization - Every attribute value is fully configurable. Edit vanilla armor stats in config/armor_new_attributes-common.toml or add custom armor from other mods via config/armor_new_attributes_custom.json. No code changes required.

Important Information:

Vanilla Protection Replacement — This mod fully replaces the vanilla armor protection system with its own attribute-based mechanics.

Mod Compatibility & Configuration — If you are playing with other mods that add custom armor, their default defense stats might not apply automatically. However, you can easily fix this by adding their armor tags and defining custom attributes directly in the config file. No code changes required!
