About this Mod
Auto Mending
Automatically repair your Mending-enchanted gear using your own XP — no more juggling items between hands while standing at a mob farm.
What It Does
Normally, the Mending enchantment only repairs items you're holding or wearing. Items sitting in your inventory with Mending stay broken. Auto Mending changes that: it automatically spreads your collected XP to every Mending-enchanted item in your inventory, not just the ones in your hotbar or armor slots.
How It Affects Gameplay
No more manual item rotation. Stop swapping your nearly-broken pickaxe into your off-hand every time you collect XP orbs. Just play — your gear repairs itself.
Full inventory coverage. Pickaxe, shovel, axe, spare armor, Elytra — if it has Mending and it's anywhere in your inventory, it gets repaired.
XP efficiency. Experience is distributed evenly across all damaged Mending items. No XP is wasted on fully-repaired gear.
XP farming value. Your mob farms and XP grinders become significantly more useful — pump XP into all your tools at once instead of one at a time.

auto-mending server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong forge version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.20.1). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is auto-mending compatible with forge?
auto-mending officially supports forge for Minecraft 1.20.1. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with auto-mending – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if auto-mending consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
