About this Mod

Bad Spectators!

Ever get tired of spectators abusing their ability to teleport? Perhaps they fly around and find hidden structures or bases? That is no longer an issue with this Mod! This Mod adds preventative measures to ensure that Spectators cannot abuse these powers within your minecraft server.

Bad Spectators!

Tired of spectators abusing their powers to scout hidden bases, locate secret structures, or relay unfair information? Bad Spectators! adds configurable restrictions to spectator mode to prevent abuse on multiplayer servers while still allowing legitimate moderation and observation.

🔒 What This Mod Does

This mod introduces server-side safeguards that limit what spectators can see and do, preventing them from gaining unfair advantages. Depending on configuration, the mod can:

Block spectator teleportation to players, preventing instant scouting of bases

Restrict free-flight movement, keeping spectators within allowed areas

Hide or obfuscate player-built structures from spectators

Prevent chunk loading caused by spectators, stopping exploration-based scouting

Optionally disable interaction-based exploits such as entity following or camera clipping

All restrictions are enforced server-side, meaning clients cannot bypass them.

⚙️ Fully Configurable

Server owners can fine-tune which spectator abilities are restricted, allowing:

Trusted moderators to spectate freely

Regular players to use spectator mode safely (e.g. after death)

Competitive or survival servers to prevent information leaks

🧠 Why Use Bad Spectators?

Stops base-finding abuse

Prevents unfair PvP advantages

Reduces meta-gaming and ghosting

Keeps spectator mode useful without breaking server integrity
