About this Mod

Abandoned

This pack changes the health and hunger system, making it more interesting and strategic.

Changes:

  • Heal half a heart every eight seconds, draining half a hunger until full health, or at three hunger.
  • Eating will quickly heal you the amount of health the food is worth. Raw foods heal very little, cooked foods heal more, golden carrots will heal eight hearts but at a slower rate, and cooked steak and cooked pork are also very nutritious.
  • Saturation is lowered, so you are able to eat more often.

Currently this pack is a bit unbalanced.

In future updates I may make jumping and running deplete less health, and I'll keep the player on 9.5 hearts so they can eat whenever you want.

This pack was inspired by Stoo's Subtle Survival Improvements, which is no longer updated. I used the pack Custom Regeneraton as a base for this system.

If you have any feedback, bugs, or suggestions, please make an issue on Github! I would love to make this is good as it possibly can be!

If you want to use this in your own pack or modify it, feel free to do so! Just try to give credit to me Interstellar_1, and imalittlhigh.

Frequently Asked Questions

Balanced Regeneration server crashes on startup – what to do?

Most common cause: wrong datapack version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.19.3). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Is Balanced Regeneration compatible with datapack and fabric and forge and quilt?

Balanced Regeneration officially supports datapack, fabric, forge, quilt for Minecraft 1.19.3, 1.19.2, 1.19.1. Note: Forge and Fabric mods are NOT cross-compatible – pick one loader and stick with it. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.

Server lagging with Balanced Regeneration – how to optimize performance?

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Balanced Regeneration consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
